Sony iPod killer?

They finally added MP3 support (no need to convert to ATRAC). This one looks a bit pricey, though.

Why does Sony insist on have proprietary software/etc... ? I relize they could make alot if something took off, but it seems like most stuff they apply this to has suffered. I guess the only thing I'm thinking of is the minidisk.

Duh me. Probably why this new one supports regular MP3s.

Apple isn't a really terrible company... but Sony is. Between the two, I'd go music-less... but if I had to choose one, it'd be the... *gag* ... iPod :Q

Sony warrenty in the UK has been 'very good' to me the few times I have had to use it.

MAYBE the iriver, but i would pick the ipod over the other stuff in a heartbeat

i believe ipod sold better than any of the ones you mentioned so i dont see how it was killed....

Own Creative Zen Touch for more than 3 months now. Very happy with it. not a single problem so far.

Iriver is OK, but it is no Ipod killer.

and both the iaudio m3 and rio karma are SMALLER then the ipod, yes thiner

you didn't do any research on the Creative Zen Touch and Zen Micro, did you? If I had to buy again, i'd still choose those over ipod and ipod mini, easily.

funny you mention the iaudio m3 first. im about 5 minutes away from buying it. after my research, for the money, size, and support, i like what the iaudio m3 offers over other mp3 players.

I never understood people who say "Between the two choices A and B, I'd choose C". C is not a choice! If you are going to set yourself up by saying "Between the two..." then you have to choose. Of course you choose option C and then revert back and say "but if I had to choose one.." Yes! You have to chose one, hence "Between the two..."
