Songs To Listen To During This Tragedy

I listen to a lot of music, but it doesn't feel right when I play the songs I normally play. They all seem so shallow now in light of this event. All singing about romance and sex and money and crap like that.

I think it'd be a good idea for us to start a list of suggested songs to listen to. Of course we would obtain these songs in a *cough* legal manner.

The only know of two songs to suggest (that's why I want to start this list):

John Lennon - Imagine
LeAnn Rimes - Please Remember (From the heartwrenching slide show)

kid rock! only god knows why
i think he's going to do a special version and the proceeds will go to the ny'ers

A radio station here in Philadelphia has done a special remix of U2's "Peace on Earth" and Live has put "Overcome" on their web site in mp3.

that U2 song was released by the band, supposedly. I can think of at least 10 stations of the top of my head tha ti have heard it on, including 1 AM station.

The Live track is very good, and I really like these guys. They did something similar after oklahoma city. The fact that U2 has done something wouldn't surprise me in the least. U2 is one of the most pollitically active bands on the face of the earth.

Matthew Good Band - The War is Over, Strange Days, Load Me Up, Indestructable
Tool - Jerk-Off, Ticks and Leeches, Disgustipated
System of a Down: P.L.U.C.K., War, Know

I have to second Barber's "Adagio for Strings" and Kid Rock's "Only God Knows Why."

Other suggestions:

Outkast - Bombs Over Baghdad
2Pac - Life Goes On
Coolio - See You When You Get There
Paul Van Dyk - We Are Alive
Fragma - You Are Alive
U2 - Pride (In the name of Love)
U2 - Walk On
U2 - Stuck in a Moment
Tina Turner - Something Beautiful Remains
The Corrs - Everybody Hurts (or REM I guess)
Boys2Men - Goodbye to Yesterday
Britney Spears - Stronger
October Project - Return to Me
Sarah McLachlan - I Will Remember You
Bruce Springsteen - My Hometown
Any Given Sunday soundtrack - Peace with Inches Speech
Saving Private Ryan soundtrack - Hymn to the Fallen
Moby - Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad
Moby - My Weakness
Enigma - The Cross of Changes
A Ha - Take On Me (Superior Techno Remix)
Club Nouveau - Lean On Me
Robert Shaw and the ASO - Agnus Dei (Choral Version of Adagio for Strings)
David Bowie - Heroes
Judy Collins - Amazing Grace

<< Gotta agree on System of a Down... Pretty much any of their songs too... >>

Ok, this is very angry music. I was kinda looking for music to channel my sorrow.

End of the innocence - Don Henley
STand by you - The Pretenders (I think that's the name of the song)
Can I get a F*ck you - JayZ (inspired by the thread on fo shizzle my nizzle) 😀
