You ever have to define terms that are scattered throughout your textbook? Yeah, I am having to do that as well as other things. It's dense and hard to find. Words are never bolded.

FML.... I want the search function IRL so bad.

I would much rather have the hard copy version of a textbook. If you need a term, look for related terms in the index to narrow your searching.

The index is a piece of shit. IT'S HORRIBLE. THEY HAVE BARELY ANY OF IT IN THERE! I already looked for like all these terms. They don't list them. Fuckers. Fuck this fucking publisher.

McGraw Hill publishes it. Susan Shaw and Janet Lee are the authors... It's called Women's Voices, Feminist Visions.

I might be wrong about the details...

IMO, buying the printed version should give access to the digital version.

in highschool I complained to my teacher that I had too many books to carry. So my teacher went over to the ESL classroom and got a CD version of our textbook, I imaged the book onto my computer and doing the vocabhomework in that class was a fucking dream compared to all of my other classes. I still have a copy of that book on my computer :)

I am fully convinced the American textbook mafia is much more powerful than the Columbian drug cartel. We should already have digital textbooks as the standard nowadays, and only shitty, poor, 3rd-world community colleges should be forced to use paper books.
Was amazed I spent 600 bucks on textbooks this past semester, and thats only for 12 credits worth of classes. Half.com and the rest are helpful, but it doesnt change the fact school books cost way too damn much.

I also have opinions on the special interest groups who protect the student lending institutions. I saw a Washington Post article recently that said Obama would like to investigate the student loan mafia and see why they have been forcing education costs to rise so much. (My words, not the reporters, but it was strongly implied in his wording.) But thats something Obama wants to do after he gets his healthcare plan done, so we probably wont see much progress on it anytime soon.

EDIT:
Wow! I just took that way the fuck off topic, didnt I?

If obama wasn't a such a socialist twat, thinking that the government was the answer to everything, I might actually like him and he might actually accomplish something good. Why can't we have health care costs and education costs come down without throwing out the government control banner? We need tort reform and we need to figure out why education costs have exploded, though in my opinion heating and airconditioning is one of the larger costs, along with pensions and other such nonsense.

Thats what he wants to do. He wasnt interested in throwing money at it cuz he knows that wouldnt solve the problem. He wants to know why and he strongly implied (along with the journalist) that its because of the people who make student loans.

I dunno if keeping people healthy in the classrooms is such a bad thing. If they are always getting colds or passing out from the heat then they wont be doing much learning. And pensions help provide incentive to keep decent teachers from going into other lines of work. We are short on teachers now, I dont want them leaving in droves.
