Why can't we have health care costs and education costs come down without throwing out the government control banner? We need tort reform and we need to figure out why education costs have exploded, though in my opinion heating and airconditioning is one of the larger costs, along with pensions and other such nonsense.

Thats what he wants to do. He wasnt interested in throwing money at it cuz he knows that wouldnt solve the problem. He wants to know why and he strongly implied (along with the journalist) that its because of the people who make student loans.

I dunno if keeping people healthy in the classrooms is such a bad thing. If they are always getting colds or passing out from the heat then they wont be doing much learning. And pensions help provide incentive to keep decent teachers from going into other lines of work. We are short on teachers now, I dont want them leaving in droves.

401k, and HVAC is the reason why some schools are shut down during this whole H1N1 scare, because the school has a thuper advanthed "green" building, it justh thso happenths to useth recycled air. Sure they could have HVAC systems with fresh air, but they use SOOO much energy.

Also if we want to save social security and pensions, we NEED to raise the retirement age significantly!

Having ebook versions of textbooks would be awesome. I don't understand why publishers can't do this... it would cost each party less and be more convenient. Mutually beneficial. Hell, I'd probably pay MORE to have a digital copy.

Dont bother with him SL. There is no way that anything you post, be it factual or otherwise, will change his mind. He ignores facts, refuses to see truth and makes up things to suit his needs.

If I could get my books as ebooks I would be so all over that. No reason I should have to pay $600 a semester for books. One of my biggest ticks about school. Editions tick me off too. I have an accounting class this semester with a textbook in it's 19th edition. I'm pretty sure GAAP standards don't change that much.

Ahhhh, you mean he was fucking with me?
I couldnt tell. I'm not used to such argument styles outside of P&N, so I thought he was serious.
