Wow, that was a stupid move by the crewmen going near shallow waters. Don't ships this size have radar to see how deep is the water they are cruising on?

Radar doesn't work with water so well. You'd want to use Sonar for sea-faring vessels. ;)

thats freaky

if its run aground on a sand bar, why do you need to get on life boats....seems there might have been poor communication if there was panic.

It really isn't.

Nomination seconded, motion passed.

Just keep sucking his ballsack and don't just suck it...deep throat it.;)

Also i am glad someone is finally putting something very useful to this thread and i had expected some facts and diagrams.

Oh well:rolleyes:

How about those dodgers:cool:

I suggest you quit while you're behind. Your comments are over the top, even for OT and mod baiting to boot. I'll take the bait.

Congratulations, you're transitioning from a poster using incorrect information to a full-fledged troll very quickly.

Edit:fixed for the perfectionist douche bags in the forums here...try running on no caffeine and make such a post lol.

Perfectionist douche bags? Come on man - your post had some very very bad mistakes in a very short post. Land mines at sea? WWII in 1916? Same matter? Misspelling the ship name wrong? Yeah - you are going to get some snarky replies. Welcome to ATOT

I wonder if the people on baord get a refund?

Jesus Hume Christ. Once again: WTF ARE YOU GOING ON ABOUT?! I know exactly who you were replying to but your reply is unbelievably childish and off-the-wall wrong. Now you're digging your hole deeper and guilty of a mod/admin call-out.

WTF is wrong with you? There was a lot more wrong with that post than the date and expecting us not to point it out for our amusement just to protect your fragile little ego is about as childish as anything I've ever seen on these forums. News flash: There was a lot more "WTF?!" about it than just the year and the spelling of one of the boats.

Titanic sank in April of 2012...and not even in the same matter as in the picture.

Now her sister ship Brititanic did sink in the same matter but due to apparent land mines during ww2 in 1916....
There's the year, the name of the sister ship, the obviously oxymoronic type of mines, the war that was supposedly going on in 1916, and more.

Even after you think it's fixed...

Matter != Manner
And you think we're "douche bags" for noticing?

You are quibbling about the two months between now and April 2012. In the process, you made many more egregious errors than the one you were correcting and then started making a stink about being corrected yourself. You are endlessly amusing.

Next, I guess you are going to point out that Titanic wasn't a cruise ship or something to disassociate it and stroke your ego for pointing out the obvious. I can only hope that you will once again fail hard at it for our amusement.

A pome! Great events need great pomes to tell the story for future generations, and become the making of legend.

Well when it comes to sinking he's right. They all sink in the same matter. If not something is really wrong. ;)

I love me a good ship wreck song.

God moves on the waters
April the 14th day
God moves on the water,
Everybody had to run and pray

Titanic left Southampton
With all their sport and game
But when they struck that iceberg
I know their mind was changed

Their mothers told their daughters
On a pleasure trip they may go
But when they struck that iceberg
They haven't been seen anymore

One man, John Jacob Astor,
A man with pluck and brain
While this great ship was sinkin'
All the women he tried to save

He was warended (sic) by a freight boat
Captain Smith would not take heed
But instead of givin' a warnin'
He ran with greater speed

He kissed his wife a last time
When the boiler did explode
He helped her in the lifeboat
Sayin', 'I won't see you anymo''

The story of the shipwreck
Is almost too sad to tell
One thousand and six hundred
Went down forever to dwell

Well, the 14th day of April
It was in nineteen hundred and twelve
The ship had a wreck by the iceberg
It went down forever to dwell

------------------------------------------
It was in nineteen hundred and twenty nine,
Run come see, run come see,
I remember that day very well
It was in nineteen hundred and twenty nine
Run come see, Jerusalem.

That day they were talkin' 'bout a storm on the islands
Run come see, run come see,
My God, it was a beautiful mornin'
Run come see, Jerusalem.

That day there were three ships leavin' out the harbor
Run come see, run come see,
It was the Ethel, the Myrtle and the Pretoria,
Run come see, Jerusalem.

These ships were bound for a neighboring island
Run come see, run come see,
With mothers and children on board
Run come see, Jerusalem.

Now when the Pretoria was out on the ocean,
Run come see, run come see,
Rocking from side to side
Yes, the Pretoria was out on the ocean,
Run come see, Jerusalem.

My God, when the first wave hit the Pretoria
Run come see, run come see,
The mothers grabbin hold unto the children
When the first wave hit the Pretoria
Run come see, Jerusalem.

My God, there were thirty-three souls in the water
Run come see, run come see,
They were swimming and praying to the good Lord
There were thirty-three souls in the water
Run come see, Jerusalem.

My God, now George Brown he was the captain
Run come see, run come see,
He shouted my children now come pray
He said, "Come now, witness your judgment"
Run come see, Jerusalem.

It was in nineteen hundred and twenty nine,
Run come see, run come see,
I remember that day very well
It was in nineteen hundred and twenty nine
Run come see, Jerusalem.

Second version, probably closer to the original:

It was nineteen hundred and twenty-nine (Run come see, run come see)
I remember that day pretty well
It was nineteen hundred and twenty-nine (Run come see Jerusalem)

There were three sail leavin' out the harbour (Run come see, run come see)
There was the Ethel and the Myrtle and the Pretoria
There were three sail leavin' out the harbour (Run come see Jerusalem)

There was the Ethel and the Myrtle and the Pretoria (Run come see, run come see)
My God what a beautiful morning
There was the Ethel and the Myrtle and the Pretoria (Run come see Jerusalem)

Well the Ethel was bound for Fresh Creek (Run come see, run come see)
With the mothers and the children on board
Well the Ethel was bound for Fresh Creek (Run come see Jerusalem)

Now the Myrtle was bound for Spanish Creek (Run come see, run come see)
My God what a beautiful morning
The Myrtle was bound for Spanish Creek (Run come see Jerusalem)

Pretoria was out on the ocean (Run come see, run come see)
She was dashin' from side to side
Pretoria was out on the ocean (Run come see Jerusalem)

Well a big storm built up in the northwest (Run come see, run come see)
The children come holdin' to their mothers
And a big storm built up in the northwest (Run come see Jerusalem)

Then the first sea hit the Pretoria (Run come see, run come see)
And the mothers came grabbin' for the children
And the first sea hit the Pretoria (Run come see Jerusalem)

That sail head down went to the bottom (Run come see, run come see)
The skipper came grabbin' for the tiller
That sail head down went to the bottom (Run come see Jerusalem)

There was thirty-three souls on the water (Run come see, run come see)
Just swimmin' and prayin' to Daniel, God
There was thirty-three souls on the water (Run come see Jerusalem)

Now George Brown he was the captain (Run come see, run come see)
He shouts, 'My children come pray'
George Brown he was the captain (Run come see Jerusalem)

Well come now witness your judgment (Run come see, run come see)
He shouts, 'My children come pray'
Well come now witness your judgment (Run come see Jerusalem)

Actually radar works quite well at showing where the land meets the sea. We used to use it all the time for quick bearings on headlands, and rough stand-off distances. It's not to be relied on for precise inshore navigation, but it definitely gives you an idea of where you are in relation to the hard bits.

There is some news this morning that running close by the point with lights ablaze was something the captains of the Costa lines vessels often did. Apparently there are some colleagues retired on that island, and they like to show off for them. The Washington Post referred to a letter from the town mayor to a captain last year thanking him for a buzz-by.

I think it hit a few hundred meters from shore but momentum + falling towards the island makes it a but closer.

It will be cool to see all the pics/video when they refloat the ship at some point in the future.

You seem very fixated on my threads

Wanna cum stroke my ego for me?

Also where did you learn to count its nearly 3 months between now and April not 2;)

Titanic wasn't a cruise ship it was delivering twinkies on its maiden voyage and stopped by a Ballys and like 2,000 fat people got on and like the extreme weight just made the ship crack in two...when it sank anyways^_^

The story we all know is a cover up.:p

1) This wasn't your thread.
2) No.
3) February and March are the only months between January and April. Got it?
4) Alternate theory.
