That's why he moved there. He spent his working years in a prosperous blue state where he had the ability to get work and make good money, then when he retired he moved to one of the poorest red states in the nation where the cost of living is low because the standard of living is low to make his blue state money go farther. Perfectly reasonable move, but his idea that he could have done it 20 years ago and had the same outcome is cope.
That's a sound idea, depending on how it was done. At that time the militia was every white male 21 or older. Seems like we'd need to redefine the militia at the same time.
I would have made a very good living in almost any state. I moved here because I liked the area. No homeless people, no panhandlers, no gauntlet of day laborer's to run in the home depot parking lot, no trash on the streets, light traffic. I haven't locked my truck since the day I moved here. The neighbor kids regularly leave their bikes in the driveway all night and they're still there in the morning. The hardware store doesn't have anything locked up. People are polite and have no problem helping each other out. It's also an open carry state and I've never once seen anyone other than the police armed.
I would assume so, and have no issue with that. Though I would add a background check, IQ test, and psychological examination to the requirements.

I disagree, we will definitely get strong gun control under Trump. It's what fascists do. There will be carve outs for his base but never forget the modern gun control movement was started by Reagan with the NRA's support after scary negroes started open carrying at the California capitol building.
