Well WTF, did no one read the news for the last 8yrs?

That said, I still believe that this realization will grow and we are headed for a real shit show with replace.

There is no more sensitive topic than people's health, and the GOP has selling bullshit they can't deliver on.

Ain't nothing affordable about the ACA... unless you're on the very low-end of the income scale. My premiums have more than tripled since Obamacare was signed into law, and number of available options shrunk. Maybe the election should have been about issues instead of dominated by snobbish elites insulting any and all voting citizens who don't conform.

Trump is President, he has the power to sign executive actions thanks to the precedence set by Obama who expanded the scope of executive actions and all the lefties who cheered on each and every one.

I, for one, welcome a new change to the system. Trump made it very clear he would take these actions. This is a surprise to no one.

Nobody is gonna have their healthcare taken away. Repeal & Replace.
Obama care would collapse on it's own, if left in it's current state. I will pass judgement once the process has run it's course and we see the end result.

And what's ObamaCrare? ;)

^ People too goddamn stupid to realize Obamacare was the GOP healthcare plan, same as Masscare/Romneycare.

Bullshit! The GOP had nothing to do with the passing and implementation of ObamaCare. Zero Republican votes. That socialist, Jonathan Gruber was the architect. Sorry pal, this falls squarely on the Democrats. BTW, same architect as Romneycare. The guy is a POS. You can TRY and spin it any way you want. I'm not buying.

RomneyCare and its core healthcare mandate was basically the GOP answer to the Clinton/democratic healthcare reform. Of course once the same thing got labeled as Obamacare, the dumbshits predictably wanted nothing to do with it, because their brains more or less operate at the level of word association, ie. obama = bad. Not much else going on upstairs.

Actually, the ACA much more resembles a plan put forth by Sen. John Chaffee in 1993 as an alternative to the health care initiative being promoted by Clinton. The bill was called Health Equity and Access Reform Today. It had a list of 20 co-sponsors that was a who’s who of Republican leadership. There was Minority Leader Bob Dole, R- Kan., Sens. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, Richard Lugar, R-Ind., and many others.

Among other features, the Chafee bill included an individual mandate, creation of ins. purchasing pools, standardized benefits, vouchers for the poor to purchase insurance, and a ban on denying coverage for pre-existing conditions. Sound semi-familiar?

Interestingly, even Obama has said that Obamacare was drawn from Romneycare, the Massachusetts plan championed by then-Governor Mitt Romney. But Romneycare was itself derived from the Chafee / Grassley / Durenberger / Hatch Republican alternative to the Clinton plan. The essence of Obamacare is a structure devised in 1993-94 by those Republican senators, then rejected and renounced in apocalyptic terms by Grassley and Hatch, which they had earlier championed.

Thanks for accuracy. Various ideas were kicked around, the purpose of which was to help block Hillary. In the end none were adopted.

A lot of people are saying in effect that the Republicans oppose something they want. More accurately it's that they oppose something put forward over two decades ago, but times change.

What really matters today is how stupid this approach is. I dislike the ACA but like any program people become dependent on it. It took a long time to get working and it will take a long time for a replacement. In the meantime anything be it better or worse doesn't matter. People are stuck. Not good.

Trump has no understanding of any process of government and how to minimize consequences nor can he plan. A gradual replacement would work but that requires legislation and not a bull in a china shop.

At this rate I wonder if he has 6 months in office.
