First off, that's changing rapidly. England's murder rate has trippled in the last year alone.

I'd rather not be robbed OR murdered. BTW, robbery usually comes with some bodily harm to the victim.

If I'm armed, I can defend myself against both situations. My being armed does not increase the muerder rate one bit. Therefore to disarm me because others have comitted murder is to punish me for the crimes of others.
