Get yourself a (real looking) gun, and if you see them again, confront them with the gun CLEARLY visible. They'll scatter like the rats they are.

This is extremely bad advice.

Agreed.

If your wife didn't see anything, you already did all you can by reporting it. Now all you need is Security, camera or dog just to deter, but if it happens again, the cops may be able to take a little more action.

Time to buy a shotgun, a good 12ga. Some states you don't even need a permit for one as it considered a rifle.

You should also tell you neighbors what happened and to look out for these kids. If they are younger kids they will in the local school, see if you can identify them through the yearbook.

I had a friend that had his car sprayed. He even lived in a closed-community with "rent-a-cop" patrols. So its not like that would have changed anything.

Maybe its an excuse to get the car painted some wild color :D.

Yeah that's what I'm starting to think along the lines of. Carrying guns around a neighborhood spraypainting political anti-Bush messages on cars could be construed as terrorist-like activity. Maybe reporting the incident to homeland security would be in order. Maybe they will take the investigation more seriously than the local police.

We just got 2 cats... I have no desire to have a big dog in this area, small yard, it would be mean.

Its getting cooler out so we will locked our windows and doors like we usually do. Im not afraid for my safety but my wife is a little unsettled.

i think these kids are around 14 years old, and right now I dont know that anyone has gotten into a lot of trouble over the gun thing....

I think they just wanted to give me a little fvck you, to get back at me for doing that. If they had any guts, or wanted to do real damage, they would have spray painted my house or garage, or broken into my garage and fvcked up our two new cars...

I doubt we will run into much more trouble from them.... it will be 2 for 2 on them doing something and the cops being called... if they want the cops on them again, they can just keep it coming...

camera and/or stake-out... also, release the hounds!

few things i hate more than people letting their dog sh*t on my lawn, and little teenagers thinking they can get away with stuff

Shouldn't be that hard.

Here's an example.

*sigh*

When will people learn that to solve a problem, one must kill the ones starting the problem? Punks with guns up to no good? Get an Uzi, conceal it under your coat, follow the punks back to their hideout or whatever, and spray them all. Bang! You just prevented the deaths of innocents who would have died if these punks continued to live.

In short, I advocate killing people.

Security cameras are for pvssies. Sentry guns are respectable.

Report them again, and get your wife to say she saw them do it. Press charges. Teach those brats, and their bastard parents, a lesson

As screwy a solution as this is, it's probably the best one. I hate to advocate lying or filing a false police report, but this is war and at the end of the day, you need to take care of #1 (and #2).

Unfortunately, just saying you saw them do it might not be enough. It's your word against theirs. And even if you did see them do it, if you don't know their identities or where in the neighborhood they live, the best you can do is describe them to the police who then may or may not find them. . .You mentioned that you or your wife recognized one of the kids as being from your neighborhood possibly? Any idea where he lives or any way to find out? If you are going to get the police involved more, it would be a good start to give them something to go on.

We already know where one of them lives, and so do the police.... The issue is, it could have been one of the kids, or any of their friends.... so trying to identify without seeing them is pointless

Well thats good. At least you have an inroad. Chances are that kid knows something about it or who did it if it wasn't him. Which it probably wasn't him if he had even 1/8 of an once of intelligence. . .he wouldn't do something like that in his own neighborhood. So time to put the pressure on this kid. How old are these guys would you say anyway? How many guns were seen and did they look like large caliber weapons?

You need to confront their parents. If you make their parents lives difficult, then they come down on the kids. Sue their parents, etc.

So, are the cops doing anything? Also, yeah, they can probably get flagged as terrorists for this. Goodbye suburban neighborhood, hello free cuban vacation. :p

Police recovered a 12 gauge shotgun, and didnt find the 2 pistols they had...

I would say 14-16 would be a good guess for age range...

Get that little kid down to the station in a room with an intimidating cop, and I'm sure he'll give his friend up.

Exactly, especially if you get the Feds involved.

See, I don't think it's so much "Fvck W" as it is :

Viva la resistance
Fvck
-W

Like, signed by someone going by "W", and calling the OP a Fvck.

Another dumb idea. . .what good is a fake gun going to do if theirs turn out to be real and shooting breaks out? And walking out with it in plain view is just inviting trouble. You should NEVER draw a gun unless you are about to use it.
