I hope Obama supporters are prepared for the possibility of "President Romney".

I hate the guy more than any other politician I've ever encountered (well, other than Sarah Palin). He's a fraud, a used-car salesman, a professional liar with no principles and no honor -- but he very well could win.

Just saw a PPP poll showing Obama's lead down to 1 in Ohio. Obama has lost pretty much his entire lead even in the EC at this point.

What has he done, specifically, that has made you hate him more than all the other politicians out there? Hate is a very strong emotion.

This place is going to be wonderful on November 6th. I can't wait.

I am actually surprised this place has not already gone full bore psycho. The election is close, Romney is rapidly gaining, Obama has yet to do anything to energize his base to get even close to the turnout of the last election.

I am rather shocked there is not already a full on feeding frenzy of psycho posting. Sure, we see the same stupid threads being created over and over about how evil Romney and Ryan are - but they are still in the only slightly insane category.

Maybe things will change in the next few weeks.

Thanks Charles for that article, I appreciate it, even with the insult garnish that was served with it.

One thing that should worry Democrats is that there were 8% more democrats in the sample and Obama still only had a 1 point lead. Democrats seem to be going against him pretty heavily if that is the case. In fact 14% of those who said they were Democrats said they were in favor of Mitt Romney while only 8% of the Republicans said they were in favor of the president.

17% of Democrats think Romney is better on the economy while 9% of Republicans think Obama is. Voter excitement, 14% of democrats aren't excited at all and 9% of Republicans aren't either.

One poll has Romney up by 7 and another has Obama up by 6. I'll sit back and laugh as the partisans point out which is right and which is wrong.

Romney hasn't had a positive polling result in Ohio for two weeks, even during his first debate bounce. Yikes.
That Ohio PPP poll that has Obama up 1 isn't the best news for Obama, especially if you look at the internals.

If he's up 7 then he doesn't need Ohio. It's a big IF though.
You're right, it's a very big "if" he's really up 7. Obama won in 2008 by 7. There's no way Romney is up anywhere close to 7 right now.

If you want to see what a 7 point national win looks like, take a look at the state polls in October 2008 that showed Obama demolishing McCain.

He's still President for another 4 years, whether he wins by 1 point or 20 points.

If Romney wants to be proud of losing by 1 point versus 20 points, he can be my guest.

Yeah, this. Ohio is basically already unwinnable, Obama has a small but substantial lead by virtually any metric and 30%+ of Ohioans have already voted. Romney has to basically pray for a swing state sweep, and given that he can't break through Nevada and Wisconsin, it's over unless there's an unforeseen game changer.

True. One might argue that the margin of victory typically affects how much cooperation the president gets from Congress, but I think most would agree that it's irrelevant in the current political environment.

Has Gallup been posting state polls since they have had Romney up 5,6,7?

Anyway, polls aren't votes and we shall see if Romney is up when the votes are counted.
