Anubis

No Lifer
i shoudl have hade it it back over a week ago, but UPS sucks so much they attempted to delever it 3 times and never told me about it, never got a notice, nothing, so i called nikon and they overnighted it me so its all good

anyway went out today as it was a scorcher, nice and sunny good for IR

These were taken with the D70, Tamron 17-35 f/2.8-4 lens useing a Hoya R72 IR filter
i would have used the Kit lens to have a lil more reach but i only have 77mm filters and need to get a step down ring, kit lens is 67mm

pics are unprecessed other then making them B&W

Cool pics but I'd rather see them in color.

That kind of defeats the purpose of using an IR filter...

Ok. B&W is nice and all but I can't look at it for too long (hurts my brains). Might as well save the trouble and take COLOR PICS 🙂

never heard of someone saying thet looking at B&W made their brain hurt, but whatever, you can do color IR with special FILM however IDK if you can do it digitally

and these pics i posted are much more interesting in B&W

You certainly can. I've done it. You need 3 narrow band filters and have to take 3 exposures. Of course I do it for astronomy and the filters just rotate inside the camera, but it is possible.

Very nice!

The area looked familiar, then when I saw #6, it hit me. I love the Commons. The kids got a kick every summer out of the swan boats.

BTW, that Tamron seems like a nice lens from what I can tell. Wonder how it compares to the Canon "L"

almost all of the reviews said it was just as good as the canon L in that range and the Nikon, only drawback is that its not constant f/2.8, but other then that its supurb, especially for the price

Where did you go to get that first pic? I can recognize all the other areas but the first one doesn't look as familiar. Actually now that I look harder I think that is near the BU bridge?
