Your diagram must be inaccurate. Two lanes go down to one during an intersection? ZUH?!

It's correct. 2 lanes go to one.
It's not that uncommon.

I've never seen that. The only thing remotely close is when you have two lanes on one side but one on the other - then the right lane on the 2 lane part turns into a right turn only lane. I've never seen it any other way, and it's stupid to have it as your diagram shows. That can't be legal to be that way....2 lanes merging in an intersection? You can't change lanes in an intersection...I don't see how this could have been designed this way.

I can think of one where I live. The intersection of Hillsboro and Harding Place does the exact same thing.

So you're telling me they designed an intersection that has two lanes merge INSIDE the intersection? It is illegal to change lanes in an intersection...and actually a certain distance before one. Doesn't seem possible that something like this would exist.

OP, post a screenshot of the intersection on Google Maps.

This is the intersection. The truck in the satellite image is where the truck was.

Wow, looks like all the 2-lanes become 1 lane after the intersection with very little or no merge area (after the intersection).

Terribad.

I would have just stayed the same speed or slowed down as others have said. Did you get the company name off the truck? If so, contact them and let them know what happened. If they are a decent company, then they should do something about it. I love screwing with people.

I don't know why people get so upset when you get tailgated. Just stop looking in your rear view mirror... I don't care what people do behind me since it has no affect on how I drive. Whether they are 1 foot or 10 years behind me, it doesn't matter.

The more you ride my ass, the slower I drive lol.

isn't possible to light the brake lights by tapping the brake lightly?

Thats what I do first hand but 90% of them wont listen at all to that sign. So best thing to do is to ride along about 2 Mph below the speed limit. Blod pressure....asplodes!!!

It is a pretty crappy design, but it does exist:

If you're on the road going from right to left, you have to merge within about 3 car lengths of the opposite side of the intersection. Neither lane there is a turn lane.

There's a merger like that around here too... literally occurs right after a light and you get a small section after this light to actually merge before it becomes one. I've seen quite a few people unknowingly make this harder on people just based on how they accelerate or which lane they choose. Like one time, there was only a guy in the right lane, so I went in behind him. Then someone pulls up on the left... okay, one car, that's fine. I'll let him in myself. Problem is, more people pull up behind this guy on the left and it gets to the point where if I let him in, people are going to expect me to let them in too!

Give one person enough space to merge, and continue on your way.

3 years ago some jackass did that shit to me and I called the cops. The guy immediately started running when he saw the phone and I followed him. I talked to the dispatcher the whole time and told him all the turns we were making... including running two red lights, and not stopping at stop signs. The dispatcher told me to follow as long as I kept a safe distance and could see no traffic while running th red lights. Eventually after about 6 minutes, the cops pull him over and he tries to run, get this, into a gas station! The tell him to freeze and eventually tackle him. They have me fill out the paperwork for a citizens arrest and he was hauled off the jail. Yes a citizens arrest... they are real!

I happened to know the arresting officer who was taking me statement and he said the guy was a wacko that was yelling and screaming about me having him fired two years earlier, even though I had never met him.

Apparently he had me confused with someone else.

Anyway, the prosecutors ended up giving him a year of probation. I was quite pissed to say the least.

bingo. same thing here. If someone's on my ass, I do EXACTLY the speed limit.

how about moving over?

Doesn't help on a single lane road.

Except many do this on a multilane highway and think they aren't the one's with roadrage.

I had an experience with that on the highway. A driver was riding my ass so I took my foot off the pedal to slow down. He got real pissed and made like he was going to run me off the road. He took off as soon as I whipped out my penis.
