what do you buy at the grocery store for almost 600 dollars? and how does someone there not notice the same card being used 4 times in a row, within minutes of each other? especially with one charge being 300 dollars. they must have stood in line and just passed the card back. insane.

edit: i guess meat to put in their new meat locker, which was installed by the carpenters? it sounds like the deli ripped you off. bought a new freezer/meat locker, paid for misc things to get it installed, took the ferry somewhere, bought a ton of meat to fill the new locker, then had a snack.

I would go to each one of those stores and tell them. " Hey you stupid f*cks, your employees are taking credit cards without checking ID and now you are out of the sale. Expecially that SuperMark place. that manager should be pissed when you show him how much was stolen from him.

I feel for you. Several years ago I had $5500 charged to my card. All the thief had was my number. The name and expiration date were different. That's how loose controls were back then.

You gave your card to someone to use to buy some food and they didn't give it back to you??

Why don't you go find him and kick his ass?

I second that

I did go over to the store. The cashier (girl) wasn't in and the manager denied his employees could ever do such a thing.

I talked to the fraud dept at the CC company and they said they would work everything out. Its my company's corporate card and they have been advising me on what to do.

Do they actually investigate who bought stuff with stolen CCs? ie time of purchase + video surveilance = arrest?

Or do they just refund you the money?

hmm...looks like he bought 2 monthly metrocards. Call the MTA and see if they can cancel them. Then, maybe if he complains about his metrocard not working, they can bust him. Just a thought...

I feel your pain had some asshole compromise Paypal account and charged 3600 dollars to it :(

If you have a zero fraud card you should be cool.

Good Luck,

She won't be working there much longer, I'll bet.

EDIT: If she's got any shred of common sense (but what are the chances, given that she's being pretty careless--paying for contracting services, who presumably already know exactly who she is with a stolen card?), she won't even show up for her next shift.

Good idea. Corporate told me to let them deal with it though. I would like to rip them a new one.

Wow, were you able to recover the money or were you just out of luck. I've always wondered about that.

Even worse than your credit card is someone sending money from your checking account to someone else's...that sucks...I can't believe that's even possible.

yea dude. im VERY careful with my CC. always get it back. last night they were taking a bit too long at the restaurant. i was getting a bit uneasy....so i walked up to the register. but it all turned out ok because the register ran out of paper...so they couldnt print out my receipt. hence the delay

i don't think i'd be raising a stink about a metrocard that all of a sudden stopped working... unless they are farking dumb.

Paypal was extremely cooperative. I sent them a fraud report and they had the whole thing resolved in two weeks. I got a couple rude e-mails from the people who were expecting the cash..hehe I told them they S.O.L .
