Some bitch just threw her kids in the bay to die.

-unemployment - drain on tax payers, who must financially support them.
-gay people (gay men) - transmitters of AIDS (moreso than heterosexuals in the usa), moral corrupters of children and all things good, not approved of by the general population.

That implies that all homosexuals spread disease, and that all unemployed take welfare. However, ALL murderers affect society in a negative way.

OK- so let's hunt down the gays who have HIV and still have sex; and also the unemployed who have applied for wellfare. We'll just kill those guys, OK? Becuase clearly they are having a negative affect on society.

Well, those who know they have HIV and still have sex with innocent people SHOULD probably be taken off the streets. Maybe not put to death (they've already done that to themselves), but taken off the street, to be sure.

Those who *defraud* the welfare system should absolutely be prosecuted and thrown in prison, or in the case of illegal aliens, deported, with no chance to ever become an American citizen.

aidanjm is the only intelligent member posting in this entire thread.

And yes, that does exclude me, because I've wasted over 10 minutes of my life reading it instead of shutting my computer down and throwing out the window the second I finished the first page.

Inane.

In the mean time let's all talk about baseball. Yawn.

God I hate the news media.

You should hate the public. The news media would push the story if there was a demand for it

It has survived this long with such things happening as far as we can remember. Crazy people are not a new thing, you know.

How can people say that because she is psycotic(may or may not be in this case) that she should virtually be let off with murder.....so what she doesn't know any better....psycotic or not she did the crime let her die slowly and painfully...

Being psycotic is probably more of a danger to the rest of the world..too unpredictable!!

quite the opposite :) This sounds typical for something in the Bay Area. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Berkeley, Oakland, or San Francisco resident- we're pretty twisted up here.

Well it's 9:47PM and I'm calling it: 3 deaths. No clothes, cold 35 foot deep water with currents and it's dark. There's no way a 1,2 and 6 year old could have survived. No recovery despite choppers and boats. The Mayor's down there now. It's been about 4 1/2 hours since she tossed them in.

This is going to be headline news tomorrow.

RIP.

Ahhh, so it happened about 5:30 pm, give or take?
Then, where were the other people? Why didn't anyone intervene?

Then again, comments in this forum frequently tend to be in the "mind your own business" category. Well, this is what happens when strangers "mind their own business." Seriously... how long does it take to undress 3 kids and throw them into the water? There's no way it happens in less than 1 minute. No one around on the pier at that hour of the day??

Lets imagine for a moment, a person who is deaf and blind who lived in an institution for 50 years of their life. Thanks to the way we just institutionalized these people 50 years ago, this person has the intelligence at this point of about a 2 year old. He just wanders around, feeling everything, tasting everything to see if it's edible. Suddenly, one day, someone leaves a door unlocked and he wanders out the door, down the street feeling his way around. He wanders into a subway terminal, and while feeling everything, manages to push a child into the path of an approaching subway train. The child is killed.

So, do you advocate for throwing this person in jail for the rest of his life?
Or, how about burning him in a fire? Or a slow death by having a subway train slowly drive over him?

Hmmm... maybe send him back to the institution and start providing some better care for him? Is that the solution? Well, if that's a different answer than what you suggest for someone who is mentally ill and commits an act of violence because of that illness, then you simply don't understand mental illnesses.

The difficult thing in cases like this one where the lady threw her children into the bay is determining if she knew it was wrong, or if she (as a result of the illness) felt she absolutely had to perform the actions she did. Personally, especially after reading reports where people faked mental illnesses and were place in care with people who truly were mentally ill - the psycholog/psychiatrists were unable to tell who was faking, but the patients could - I don't trust the people making these determinations.

So sad...it's things like this that add to the stigma of mental illness. This could have been prevented.
