Some 20 year old chick gets shot in the head, accidentally, in a church

The average Floridan isnt smart enough to own and carry a gun on a daily basis. They REALLY need to push safety classes before you can buy or legally carry.

If he was carrying illegally this just drives the point home. He wasnt smart enough and look what happened.

What's ironic about it?

I want to know how that guy managed to get a concealed weapons permit and somehow forgot about the riound in the chamber.

I'm curious of the irony as well...it's sad that stupid happens though, how can a 48yr old be that dumb?

How the hell do you forget about a round in the chamber? HOW? Take out the magazine, rack the slide a few times, make sure there's no round, and then you can hand the gun over to someone to see with the slide back and open.

The person had a permit and was a licensed security officer. 🙁

A gun doesn't "accidentally go off", somebody has to pull the trigger. Dummy probably disobeyed all 4 rules. You NEVER hand somebody a loaded weapon. You clear, check, clear, check then hand it to them. Then they clear, check, clear, check again - every firearm is always loaded.

"showing safety features" is always a terrible idea. "look, it won't fire even if I pull the trigger" BAM.

To answer the "How".. I think stupid can happen to all of us at some point or another. When's the last time you ran a red light, accidentally, or something equally deadly?

Not making excuses for the guy's critical failure just saying people F up and I'm surprised there aren't more dead/injured on a daily basis.

I stopped at a green light. Luckily, it was a local road with light traffic.

The numbers do not lie. Most of the time a gun used for protection will more often than not hurt someone who is not a criminal. At no point in time should he have removed that weapon, unless he intended on using it or at a range or something.
