Sodomy laws are a (thankfully closed) dark chapter in our American history, though they still exist in some parts of the world.

The Lawrence v. Texas decision of 2003 effectively ruled unconstitutional the sodomy laws of any states that had not already repealed them on their own.

What do you think of sodomy laws? Are you glad they're gone or do you wish they were still on the books and enforced? Public poll, BTW.

it still kinda exist in the United States today but it in Military. it's part of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Article 125

http://www.ucmj.us/sub-chapter-10-punitive-articles/925-article-125-sodomy

(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration , however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.
(b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

how well the our military enforces this, I don't know. I remember learning about this while doing basic training for the United States Air Force

oh I think the goverment should not be regulating what someone does in the bedroom

This appears to be about self-affirmation.

Affirmation, perhaps, but not self-affirmation. This is to affirm what I suspected, but wasn't 100% sure of.

For my part, I neither seek nor require the approval of anyone for what I do in the bedroom.

And what exactly did you suspect?

That a majority of people here would be of the opinion best represented by voting "yes" to the poll.

I made it a public poll to point out those who are hypocritical; those who advocate individual liberties in some things but not others.

So which small Government Conservatives are in favor of Government regulating the bedroom?

Depends on what you do in the bedroom. If you murder someone in the bedroom, I'm in favor of small government regulating it.

Of course that's not what you mean. What you probably mean is that the government has no business being involved in our sex lives.

I disagree with Lawrence v. Texas not because I'm in favor of restricting anal sex, but rather because I disagree with Griswold v. Connecticut, on which Lawrence v. Texas was predicated.

Ahhh....since it isn't self-affirmation, I thought is was to affirm that there's actually a few people on a political forum who might actually have a different opinion than you. But now I see that it's more than that.

Montana GOP: Ban homosexuality

The official party platform declares an intent to make being gay illegal

Montana GOP executive director Bowen Greenwood said that has been the position of the party since the state Supreme Court struck down state laws criminalizing homosexuality in 1997 in the case of Gryczan v. Montana.

The Montana GOP statement, which falls under the "Crime" section of the GOP platform. It states: "We support the clear will of the people of Montana expressed by legislation to keep homosexual acts illegal."

That is just retarded.
