I'm happy with my Neo Platinum. The Asus K8N-E Deluxe is another nice NF3 board.

Keep in mind that with the A64 using an integrated memory controller, there's not a huge performance difference between boards. It's all about what features you want, and if you trust the board's maker.
At stock speeds, you probably wouldn't notice a big difference. I'm happy with the o/cing options of my Nforce3 board though. The semi-working PCI/AGP locks are a nice feature, and I think they are hit/miss on the Via boards.Originally posted by: diabloII
also, via boards and nForce boards are essentially the same performance wise?
would that your neo platinum be the same as the "msi k8n neo-fsr" listed on monarch
Once we start comparing S754 and S939 boards, everything goes out the window. The S939 CPUs support dual-channel memory, whereas the S754's only do single-channel, so the 939's usually end up on top. The "it's all the same" comparison is only good for boards using the same socket.Originally posted by: diabloII

ah! thx
so there wouldn't be a big difference if i get a $80 Sock754 asus/abit/msi (brands i trust) mobo than if i get a $150 socket 939 MSI neo 4 platinum pci-e mobo because i'm still deciding between either an $80 S754 or a $150 sock939 (keep in mind i DO want to save money, but if there's a big performance jump, i'm all for the $150 board)
