Figured it was slang and not a formal English word.
Also, I think you should seriously think about taking dance classes. It would up your self worth, and your worth in the dating world.

I dance. But I'm quite unclear of what you mean by social dancing that doesn't involve ballroom dancing. There isn't much left.
I do latin: salsa, rumba, cha-cha, mambo, samba, and if forced I'll dance mergengue.
I do smooth: foxtrot, waltz, vieneese waltz.
I do swing: single time, west coast, and a bit of triple time, double time, and lindy hop, hustle.
I do tango: argentine is my favorite, but I'll do stanard tango as well.
Then I'll occasionally do a bit of other dances but I don't really know them: quick step, polka, line dances (if forced), several country dances (if forced), passo doble, nightclub twostep, and the minor variations of those above.
But since you hate those dances, I can't think of much left that you'd like.

Watched the first minute and found it unbearable to watch.

Go to the USA Dance website (amature ballroom dancing organization): swing is there.
Go to the World Dance Council: swing is part of their highlight 10 ballroom dance competition.
Go to any ballroom dance competition: swing is there.
Go to a ballroom dance studio: swing is there.
Go watch ballroom dance shows/movies: swing is there.
Go to wikipedia "ballroom dance": swing is there.
To say swing isn't ballroom dancing is just being a snob. Actually a ignorant snob who doesn't know the other forms of dancing very well.
geez, it's like 5 min...
you understand just walking onto the dance floor and flail around is not dancing right?
this looks like a clearer link

Lindy hop and east coast are most definiately ballroom and are taught in any ballroom dance studio. I personally have never heard of blues though. Do you have a good link about it?Bullshit.

People who try to make ballroom as an umbrella that covers everything are just making excuses. Lindy hop and ECS are most definitely not ballroom. And Blues is even further away than that.

East coast swing is in the core 6 dances that just about any ballroom dancer starts with (waltz, foxtrot, tango, rumba, cha cha, and east coast). Sometimes they'll swap in triple time over single time, so it varies from place to place, but swing is still there. After that basis, you then branch out to the other major dances. So, you certainly have no clue about ballroom dancing. Most definitely not. Just because you use a dance studio doesn't mean shit. People go to those places because they're available to rent and have hardwood floors. Where else are you going to hold a dance for a 100 people to practically throw each other around?

But since this thread is about touching a woman, you don't touch a woman more than in ballroom dancing. What do you personally have against it? Don't like putting your leg between her thighs? Don't like her body contact region (hips to chest) touching your body contact region and staying there for the entire length of the dance?

Thanks for the link.Blues dancing more or less as you'll see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcIFwmuFcYw
#1 rule in proper smooth dancing is body contact. With waltz, foxtrot, and tango your upper thigh should be plunged deep between her upper thighs or you are doing it wrong. foxtrot, more see the legs, and amatures doing it correctly. And I am pretty sure from what I've seen of ballroom dances is that there is not THAT much contact. It's closed, but full closed embrace... Not really. Usually it's just chest touching or whatever. And generally very much to the side like in tango.
Sadly, you just don't know ballroom dancing. ECS is taught as one of the basic core dancing at any ballroom dance studio that I've ever been to (a couple dozen). How about this, I'll give you full control to prove me wrong: show me one ballroom dance studio in your hometown who doesn't teach at least some form of swing. What are you smoking? ECS is derived from lindy (Probably by ballroom dancers). It's not a ballroom dance. Wtf.
Thanks for the link.

And to be honest, I wouldn't ever want contact with the people who are generally at ballroom dances. (Old people who should be in Florida)
If it is, then people who come from ballroom suck miserably even at ECS.
