Expressing one's beliefs about politics or our government's policies is a lot different, and far more constructive, than the whackos I see standing on street corners screaming at passers-by that they're going to burn in hell because they're sinners, or fags, or jews, or whatever it may be.
That kind of "protesting" is merely antagonizing and really serves no purpose in society, unlike more constructive criticisms of the government or leaders or whatever it may be.
Just to add:
Leviticus deals with priestly code. Also the direct translation of the specific verse is " And with a male you shall not lay lyings of a woman" from which there is no direct translation to any other language. It is an assumption that it deals with homosexuality. Even with the assumption it is not clear whether this is for priest only, deals with the act of homosexuality or deals with the condition of homosexuality.
In Romans God made the people who were engaging in heterosexual perversions homosexual. Although it is referred to as unnatural it is not condemned but used as punishment. Of course this is Paul so take it with a grain of salt.
Corinthians has nothing to do with homosexuality.
Shellfish - The Old Testament had many rules/laws about food and food preparation. The Kosher laws. First, Jesus made ALL foods clean. You can eat anything without it being a sin if you have the right attitude about it. Second, the Kosher laws were God's way of telling us what is good for us and what is bad for us. Worst meat you can eat? Pork. Pork is full of toxins that are harmful to the body. I eat pork very rarely and everytime I do I feel 'off' for a while. Shellfish - The Kosher laws say eat creatures from the ocean that have both fins and scales. Interestingly enough, anything that has both fins and scales is cleaner and has less bacteria than creatures that don't have fins and/or scales. The fins show the creature moves through the water. The scales show that the water can pass through the body to an extend helping to wash away toxins and bacteria. Creature that don't move, or don't have scales, become polluted with whatever is in the water in their environment. That's why clams and such can be dangerous to eat - Red Tide.
Gay sex is still a sin. God does NOT hate gay people. God hates sin. As HotChic has correctly pointed out, we are ALL sinners and God views all sin as bad. The person who practices gay sex is just as guilty of sin in God's eyes as the theif, the liar, the murderer, etc. People that preech "God hates fags!" or "Homosexuality is the worst sin!" need to sit down and read the Bible again (or probably for the first time) and realize they've got it wrong.

Equally as bad as the people who are self-righteous. Don't anybody think Christians are comparing homosexuals to murders any more than they are comparing them to themselves.
Also note, Jesus didn't come down real hard on the "hardcore" sinners when he was around (the adulterers, etc.) He came down brutally on the religious hypocrites and had pity for the "sinners".
I agree with this part. People need to remember the important parts are in red and really there are only three. God loves you, he will forgive you, and you should treat others as you would have them treat you.
I don't get how so many people miss the point. Maybe they should outlaw preachers and just hand out cliff notes to the Bible.
Of course Jesus was just a hippie that thought the world would end with his death but crazy people have their share of wisdom too.
