It's not really ironic. If he had said any extremist of any kind should be killed, then fine. His position on extremists would itself be extreme. Actually tho he limited his comments to religious extremists. He is extreme in his lack of tolerance of religious extremists. As are many people. No irony there.

I've always wanted to picket those who are protesting homosexuals by quoting Leviticus 18:22. And my picket sign would read

"Thou shall not cut the hair at the sides of thy head or clip the edges off thy beard (Leviticus 19:19). Let he who is without a shave cast the first stone!"

Note: I'm at work without a bible around so I'm not positive if it's Leviticus 19:19 but I think it is.

Edit: Leviticus 19:19 is actually "You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of two kinds of material." I KNEW Abercrombie was a sin, damn 40% polyester 60% cotton.

Leviticus 19:27 was the cutting the beard one I was looking for.

Their letters would have a little backing if they did more than ATTEMPT to make fun of and make the writer feel like less of a person. Isnt it great that one of the main teachings of Christianity is understanding and forgiveness.


I read several letters and am personally offended by their comments on how IED's were sent by God to punish America. My brother is leaving for Iraq in less than a week and has already spent 9 months there. These people should be stopped. Protesting funerals and claiming that God is on their side. I'm pretty sure that no God would allow disrespect for the dead and that is all it seems to be.

They also claim that america bombed their church. Yes, a United States citizen probably did bomb your church but it wasnt America. These people need to get a clue.

Pork is not full of toxins. The reason that pork was forbidden is because pigs have a higher tendency of being infected with Trichinella (type of parasitic worm) because they eat nearly anything, causing trichinosis in the consumer. This can happen in all carniverous animals (it is spread by eating infected meat). Cows could get it also if you ground up some infected meat with their normal feed.

It is extremely rare in the US. It is quite a bit more common in developing countries. Properly cooking pork, even infected pork, almost guarantees that you cannot become ill from consuming it.

The reason you feel off after eating pork is most likely psychological.
