So yeah, I changed my water pump today.

Feel like doing my timing chain? 🙂

Please!

I can do it, I just don't WANT to....

Honestly..... I probably could do it but I filled my 'auto repair quota' for a while. 😉

damn

Well I have done several before, but the older I get the less I feel like doing this kind of thing.

You'll see. 😉

Congrats.

And that is usually the way things works on a car.

Tomorrow I'm replacing my power steering pressure hose and it require the removal of the belts and alternator to remove the power steering pump so I can get at the pressure fitting nut.

Ugh. I hate pulling out alternators.

That was the easy part on my car.

To add some info about the work I did.
I was too lazy to crawl under my car and drain the coolant the way it's supposed to be done so I siphoned it instead.

Last time I did one, I had to take out the clutch and flywheel. I swear to God I got the damn heatshield stuck twice. Mind you, this was a german car, and htey can go right to hell.

😱 With the cars I worked with, I didn't have to know about an old-fashioned odometer like that. =p

What the he11 kind of car was that? Sounds like it was engineered backwards.

I don't mind doing it but it is annoying that I have to remove so many parts to get at the hose nut.

It seems as if the engineers didn?t care where they put the nut because it would be accessible if the nut locates 1? over on the power steering pump. Another annoyance is that Ford engineers seems to work with an old design engine therefore they have to work around it to get the hose into place (it wrap all around the engine and coiled back with a 1? of rubber hose for vibration separation). And the damned over price hose ($97.00 CAD) is nothing but a cheap metal tubing that is attach together by a section of rubber hose and 2 flare pressure fittings that is made in Mexico.

[add] I was lucky to get the hose at wholesale from a local wholesaler, becaue retail it would have been $179.00 CAD.

I remember one car we had in, it wouldn't start up so it had to be towed in. It was up on the hoist and we were trying to figure out what the hell was going on. We had check the alternator, starter, whatever and found nothing wrong. Eventually noticed the motor mounts were all broken and a bunch of other crap was twisted underneath. You don't notice it at first, but once we looked under the hood we could see the whole engine leaning towards the left, hah.

I have a new supercharger and valve body that will fit that engine sitting behind me.

You've mentioned that to me before. I'm afraid I will need a new ECU to make it run good. It would be awesome though. 🙂

FrustratedUser had to change his waterpump.

Chuck Norris doesn't worry about waterpump failure and coolant loss. They never break or leak out of fear. Of a roundhouse kick.
