It seems to me that dell is trying really hard to make #s. The deals lately have been ridiculous. Not to mention the 15% and 25% offs that have been floating around. I got a buy 2 servers get 1 free email a few weeks ago...
Why can't deals like this happen when I actually have the money to spend on them? It seems when I'm really in the market for something, there are no deals to be found anywhere.
I have an 8600 and I love it. The keyboard is quite responsive and nice to type on.

I think my parents are getting a 600m for their birthdays and christmas combined.
Does anyone know if the ship date going to affect my chances of getting the deal. Configured the way I want it, it would ship the 26th. Am I more likely to get the deal if I configure it so it can ship same day?

Dell's financial quarter ends this month...so there might be a few more super-hot deals lurking in the shadows...
And Intel just announced major price cuts on their mobile chips. Prices should drop very soon in the laptop market (LCD prices are already falling).

Ok. I'm jumping in on the deal. Question is, which Inspiron model? There's a 400mhz FSB and a 533mhz FSB model..obviously the 533 model is gonna be better..but is it? Do the 400mhz models have a bigger cache or something? What's the difference between Pentium M and Mobile P4? I'm looking at the 600M model mainly. I won't really be gaming but will do some graphics and lots of multitasking. Do they all have integrated graphics??
These are the Dell end of quarter deals. Judging from the Deals Dell is having a very sluggish quarter.
Why is that? Also, I'm pretty clueless about laptops... is there anyplace that maybe compares the inspiron lines and details which ones would be better for doing things?
I read luv2save's post and he has like 10 laptops listed.... what are the differences between all of those besides the obvious? Wouldn't I want to get the fastest proc, biggest screen, most ram, etc??? They all seem to be around the same price.
Also, any comparisons on those different types of screens? wsxgs, xga, etc, etc??? Arggg, I can't decide what I want to do!! I'm really thinking about selling my new dell desktop that I just bought off the hot deals, but I'm iffy.....
damnit...have 5 more hours to decide whether to buy on or not. If I do, I still don't know what to get
