Plus you don't have to deal with annoying kids.
^^ This. Even after paying the $12 premium you got stupid kids flipping up their cellphones to text during the movie, gets me so mad I want to grab their phones and smash them.

I think its the best movie ever made. Simply spectacular
We are all entitled to our opinions ...
I've seen it and was reminded of all the movies that it was a copy of.
Ouch... That is a lot of money.Oui. re-watch plus family and friends means it is cheaper to buy it. And less hassle.
my ~1200 dvds says hi to you 🙂

I don't understand people who buy DVDs.
Do you guys really sit and re-watch movies numerous times?
I can understand renting it once or twice, but owning it just seems like a huge waste.
(sorry to thread crap, but I figured I would get a pro-DVD owner point of view)
Name the movies? Because I am a serious movie buff. If this was a copy or as you imply a conglomeration of movies I would like to know which ones? Everyone has an opinion on what is the best movie ever made, but if there is a better one I sure haven't seen it.

Doesn't come out on netflix until 5/20 🙁
I thought netflix got movies on their release dates?
I didn't say I could justify $12 to go to a movie either, which I don't do very often. The amount of entertainment you get from a $25 BR is absolutely pathetic compared to other entertainment (games, TV...). I dunno.Seriously? The last time I went out to a movie I spent 12 bucks just on a ticket & a drink...it's much cheaper to buy a movie and food and have a couple friends over, vs going out to a theater with the same number of people.

I'm sure you get plenty of enjoyment out of all those dust collectors though.
Also, you can probably get a -95% return on investment if you ever decide to sell the collection at a yard sale.
I'll wait for a sale and pick it up on blu-ray. It's fantastic eye candy to introduce people to HD. 😛

It was a very well-done movie, don't get me wrong. I enjoyed it.
But it was hardly original.
Please, don't tell me you completely missed the Pocahontas, Dances With Wolves, The Last Samurai, etc etc similarities.
The did a well-done production, but the story and characters were completely highly-stylized copies.

Go watch "Dances with Wolves".
James Cameron has a habit of taking other works, adding some "bells and whistles" and getting a lot of credit (and money) out of it. Titanic was made MANY times before he came up with the original idea ... while Avatar is a high tech remake of movies such as DWW.
Hollywood has run out of original ideas ...
Must not have been as good as everyone hyped it up to be.It's coming out already?
No way, Cameron already raped me for $20 and I have no need to ever see that movie again, nor will I be seeing any of its sequels. D:
