Management gave us today off, but I'm not taking any vacation this holiday. It's quiet so I can actually get work done. I'll save my time off for the odd times of the year.
 
Working Christmas eve night, Christmas day night, and Boxing day night.
1900 to 0800 all of them.
And theres ah heck all staff on!

My kid asked if I was actually going to call past dues on Christmas eve. I told him he won't be getting a new Mustang GT for Christmas because of those past dues. I think that kind of clarified it for him.

Yeah, it's amazing what us Mustang GT owners will tolerate to make the payments on our rides... like work in IT. Eww.

I worked today, but just an 8h shift. I always felt that Christmas eve should be a stat, same with new years eve. If I ran a company I would just let people go home, and any department that is essential would just get paid the same as a stat.

I'm off Christmas and Boxing Day though. I worked those two years in a row. Good money though... This year I'm just working New Year's.
 
I got super lucky this year in that I am getting two four-day weekends in a row, and thus two three-day workweeks in a row. And that means that January 7th is going to bring about the most ruthless case of the Mondays ever recognized, and that hump day will feel like an oasis -- oh but a mirage it is -- on the long march across the five day workweek.

But wait, I still got 3 days this week, another 4 day weekend, and one last 3 day week after that before I have to call this party to order. Woot 😀

Next year is going to be weird, I think I'll use vacation days to just take more time off. We'll work on that Monday, day of Festivus, have Christmas Eve and Day off, return Thursday and Friday. Rinse and repeat for New Years Eve Eve as work that Monday, have Tues/Weds off, then back the rest of the week.
Those are going to be very weird Mondays, not sure I want to partake.
 
Almost called in today. My main motivation for coming in was the possible chance to get some saw time, and it's paid off! I'll head out to the pastures in a little bit, and start fucking up some trees. So far, it's looking like a good day :^)
 
Once again...I have the day off with pay...just like every other day.

Made the first load from storage to the new house...dropped off the Uhaul on Christmas Eve night. Have to move most of that from the garage into the house...then back for the second (and hopefully LAST load.
No rest for the wicked, I guess... 🙁
