I'm enjoying this while it lasts. I'll be in Illinois in a month for a very long time, lol.
Haha that sucks.

I am. My thermometer reads 108F for the second straight day. Crazy heat for central texas in June.
40C in the summer of -20C in the winter. Take your pick. 😛
"So... who else is baking out there in this ridiculous heat?"
You have an oven outside?
That's just crazy............:hmm:
I just finished driving from Colorado to Florida. I want to lock myself in a freezer. Leaving for Washinton tomorrow ^_^

Cloudy, 60F, feels like 60F.
I have my window open and am listening to the sounds of the brook and the birds next to my house on a great, peaceful oregon saturday afternoon

I'm literally baking this morning too while it's still in the 60s outside so I can ventilate the kitchen with outside air(I have a massive baking stone for cooking anything bread related on, unfortunately it also holds heat FOREVERRRRR). I'm making artisan country style rolls, made the dough last night did a first rise then made the rolls and into the fridge for an overnight rise.
Apparently my family thinks they are so good I have to make them and bring them to every family get together.
Then making homemade banana pudding from scratch as well. Should be a damn fine feast today all for my dad 🙂
I'm contemplating building a brick oven of sorts outside, that way I don't have to bake inside during the summer. Right now, I'm using my propane grill with terra cotta as a substitute at times. Makes a pretty good bread actually.
I live ~2 hours north of Dallas-Ft Worth area, and we hit 113F yesterday. 😱
"Only" supposed to get up to 108F today, though! 😀
Personally, I'm looking forward to later in the week, when they're predicting that we'll cool down to ~100F. That will be NICE!! 🙄
It was a great day for solar oven roasting...

fortunately the extent of today's "baking" consisted of bringing 1/2 cup of heavy cream to a simmer, which took about 15 seconds in a stainless steel pot.
now I've just got to wait for the gelatin to set and we can cut into my chocolate mousse cake 🙂
When it's HOT, having an outdoor oven is the way to go...keep the heat outside instead of in the house where it can make the AC work harder...
