So which non-seafood Chinese take-out dish should I get?

I never get anything super spicy from a Chinese joint. If I'm eating in, I ask for extra hot, but it never is. I think they just put an extra dry pepper in for extra hot :^D The heat level's always disappointing, but at least it's tasty.

Thank GOD I live in Vancouver.

Replace Vancouver with any city with a large Chinese immigrant population (like San Fransisco, New York , et al). I would actually have to hunt around to find a "westernized" Chinese restaurant here. Chinese restaurants on every block and most are relatively authentic FTW!

I don't know if I would do well with authentic food.

Chicken feet? 😛

Satay Beef is great as is Garlic Beef and Black Pepper Beef.

For mild I like Lemon Chicken and Curry Chicken Noodles.

For rice I like the spicy hot Malaysian Fried Rice.

General Tso's chicken is the worst food imaginable. It's horrible, and I can't believe anyone would pay to eat it.

General's Tso's tastes awesome. EKT.

We just got home from our favorite Chinese restaurant.

Like many, they have two menus...one for Chinese people...one for the rest of us. 😛

http://www.imperialgrdn.com/

I don't read or speak any form of Chinese...well, except Happy New Year 😀 so I don't even try to read the Chinese menu...but the folks there all know us pretty well, and tell me "Oh, you no like anything here. You order from other menu."

The food is good though...best one in town, best one I've ever been to, and I've eaten in LOTS of Chinese restaurants over the years...many touted as "The best in town." (usually in a town that only has ONE Chinese restaurant) 😛

I like them both. I get General Tso's more than anything, but Kung Pao is my next biggest buy. Oh, and I dig the peanuts :^D

Sacrilegious! Fried peanuts FTW. They are especially good with a nice hot bowl of Congee. A note on Kung Pao Chicken, if it has bell peppers it's not the traditional version!:

The traditional version should be quite spicy!

Yeah, it wasn't really spicy, even though I told them extra spicy. What is the word for "unimaginably spicy" in Mandarin/Cantonese?
