I agree with Eug, we need a Mac forum.

But what you describe is either hardware or software; a Mac is both and doesn't fit in to either category very well. I mean, there has to be some sort of categorization, otherwise we wouldn't need any hardware forum at all besides General Hardware, and a Mac forum is a logical categorization.Originally posted by: n0cmonkey

Then we need a Linux forum. And a DOS forum for the win98 junkies. And a BSD forum for me. And a solaris forum for Sunner. Let's make a cable forums, but don't leave out the DSLers...

Why not just an "alternative computing" category to catch all of those(including the Mac)?Originally posted by: n0cmonkey

I think they all fit into existing categories.
I'll live with whatever the mods decide.![]()

And no offense to mac dudes, but I don't think it's worth it for another reason. See, if I were on a Mac, something so different, I'd go to a forum made for it. This forum is dominated by windows/nix users, so most discussion will be centered around that. There are plenty of big mac forums out there, so anything specific to that would probably get better discussion on those forums. Just a thought.

I for one would welcome a Mac forum. It would give Apple types a sense of legitimacy & place to vent, thus easing the load of flames which, as it stands, must be endured by anyone claiming the company doesn't fart Chanel #5 or that Steve Jobs isn't the second coming of Christ. In essence, it would act as a wonderful filter for the other forums, the way P&N does for OT.

Apologizing to an OP for taking a thread off course by correcting your original falacious comment about quicktime (which itself started the whole tangent and was a thinly veiled attempt at a troll) is hardly a troll. You on the other hand have consistently defied all logic when it comes to anything Apple related. I find this amusing considering that the owner of this website is himself a fan of the Apple platform. Gurck, you are easily the worst troll outside of P&N. A simple search on your posts proves this.
