I know that it might seem that way at first appearance. But God doesn't want you to be just a "good person" by not sining. What He wants is to give you a completely new life with God in the center. I have been given a completely new life with God because I love Jesus with all my heart. In the beginning, God made everything perfect, and He intended it to stay perfect. But becasue of sin, you can see that the world is the complete opposite of that. And in this new God-given life, among many other things, it includes restoration. God restores His followers. He heals the mind and the body; He mends broken hearts, and He takes away our burdens so that we can be free from the bondage of our old life so that we can worship Him and recieve all that He has planned for our lives. Just as colors like black and white, there is a contrast between people who are being saved by God and people who are lost and far from God.

Thats why it sounds like I am "brain washed." I am washed clean from the pain and filth of my old life.

Since my dad died last year, I know how you feel vis-a-vis wanting to be in a place with your family after this life is done. Unfortunately, I think the only such place is in your head, when you replay memories. So keep them alive, and hope that you have pleasant dreams often.

as far as what I think, I think that whether there is a Supreme Being or not, a person should live a good life and be a good person simply for themselves, not because they want to please somebody or something else. You should be a good person so you can be satisfied with yourself. Then, in the end, if there happens to be a Heaven where you can be with your loved ones, it's just an added bonus to livinga good and honest life and being an all-around good person, which is the real reward.

God believes in you.

Everyone sins all the time. But the main sin, is that you are not following God's will and purpose for your life, but your own. Our own life isn't even about us, its about God. When we turn from ourselves to Him, like I said, He gives us new life and everything centered around Christ.

And for all the other posts about religion and everything...Don't be decieved. We all have many of our own ideas and opinions about God, the afterlife, and judgement, etc... But know that there is only one truth. And if there really is a God and He really does want to reveal himself to us, won't He be most likely to reveal Himself to those who really do want to know the truth?-who earnestly want to know what to do to know Him?

God is not on the tv, computer, internet, games, girlfriend, boyfriend or anyother thing for that matter. But He is in our hearts. Seek Him with your heart, and He'll lead you to Jesus.

The Holy Spirit is you concious, we all all created in the image and likeness of God... right? God is in the sky and heaven, God is in everything!!!, but more powerfully God is within... If Gos is etrnal, then the God part of us is also eternal.

Yes we were created in the image of God. And in the beginning everything was perfect and we did have eternal life. But remember, now that sin and essentially death has complely consumed the world, we have lost our eternal life privelage; we die...spiritually and physically. So we do need salvation through Jesus Christ to be acceptible to God. Don't think that when we get saved that we become perfect or anything; we will always need God's guidance in every area of our lives.

As for the comment about God being in everything, I don't know exactly what you mean and how you think about this...But I can tell you that the power of God is not in any rock, bird, or anyother object. Though these things did come from God and are in someway connected to Him, don't think that they hold any higher value than what they are. If anything, they point to God.

Read the New Testiment, its all in there.
