I read awhile back that the age females are going through puberty is dropping for some reason, while the age of males going through it is unchanged. The article said girls are hitting puberty as young as 9!

So....why is it not affecting males? I've heard the use of soy in a lot of things nowadays may contribute. Supposedly there is something in soy that is very similar to estrogen...

It's true. But as someone who had a woman's body at the age of 10 myself, you have to understand that it's incongruous.
Think about a 9 month old baby who can walk... one of my children was walking at 9 months of age, and for a long time, it was a potential disaster!!!! Like a baby who has learned to walk before having any sense, a girl with a woman's body in our society is still just a kid. She has no idea who she is, what she wants, or how she feels most of the time, You want to 'get some of that' and then be responsible for the emotional fall out? Because whether or not you get caught, you will be.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I somewhat agree with that, but I think to say these poor girls are just naive and can't be held responible for their actions is a major cop-out IMO. I bet if the OP had gone further with this girl than he did, and the law had become involved, absolutely NOTHING would have happened to the girl, but he would have been arrested, charged with a crime, and possibly labeled as a "sex offender" for the rest of his life.

I consider the consequences of the law the same as it is for pot smoking. It doesn't really matter if it is right or wrong. What matters is that doing it can get your ass thrown in jail. Why take that chance? Control your urges and be SURE of who you are becoming intimate with. Seems simple enough.

See, here's the problem. While your unique perspective on this is better than our because you went through that stage yourself, you seem to be saying that how it was for you is how it is for every girl at that age. Surely you understand that just because that was how you felt at that time, that does not mean it's the same for all females that age...there are just too many variables like upbringing and such..

That being said, you seem to think the underage female has no fault in these situations? why is that? If I'm misunderstanding you, I apologize..
I also have the added benefit of working with girls every day in my profession and being very involved with high school girls of today on a regular basis. My college education focused on psychology, development, and sociology. I pay attention and take notes constantly, because I understand the scientific methods involved in both quantitative and qualitative studies.
What I am expressing here are my opinions based on my experience and my current knowlege.

I think the parents of the underage girls are the first line of defense. If they fail to do their jobs, then it is up to guys to protect themselves from the wiley and dangerous creatures that are teenage females.

yea, to say the girl I made out with was "prey" and I was the predator would be a joke. I was there with my friends, and some friends of some friends of some friends showed up with some of their younger girl friends and there was like 100 people around a bonfire. I was legally drunk. I'm 25 and I wanted to have a good time. The girl saw me, came up to me and started talking to me. She moved in on me. She pushed me back into a chair so she could sit on my lap. She grinded on me when I was sitting there. I asked her where she went to school, she said the local college. The people I hang out with are all non-minors and I didnt even think a girl so young would be there. Anyways, she kept touching me and gettin close to me so she could "make sure" i heard what she was saying, and then she started cuddling with me, and the she started kissing me. She was really cute and was so adorable in my lap, so I went with it. She made every move. She was the predator. She clearly knew what she was doing and knew what she wanted at that moment in her life.

I really think it is up to the parents to keep the girls from being in these situations to begin with.
For example... my oldest daughter's first boyfriend was 17 and she was 14. He wanted to fool around all the time but I refused to let them have unsupervised time together. It was pretty clear that every time I turned my back, he was trying to get in her pants, and she was too inexperienced to understand what was happening.
Anyway, he broke up with her because I didn't back off. And you know what she said to me later? Thank you. She was relieved to be out of that situation. She is almost 18 now and will be going on the pill soon because she and her long term boyfriend will be more sexually active and want to be responsible about it. We actually talked about making the appt. for her today.
Now, if parents do not supervise/educate their children, and 'stuff happens', who is to blame becomes tricky. Individual situations can't all be taken into account. I just think that instead of having disastrous experiences with baby women, guys should just avoid that 'new grass' on the playing field completely.
i had a similar experience. My younger stepbrother (19) has a beautiful girlfriend and she is always at my dad's house with my stepbro. I walked in one day and saw what I though was his girlfriend (I saw her from behind) and thought, damn she has such a nice ass. Then she turned around and I saw it was my 13 year old cousin.
