If you google some more you'll see that it is the yuppies (liberals) in big cities that account for the large number of support. So Sawyer's point is correct.

If YOU had even minimal reading comprehension you'd understand that Sawyer said they only think they are, and I quote, "the larger number", but that, and again I quote, "they are wrong".

That is simply untrue, and has been untrue for years and years.

Sawyer's point is wrong. And YOU are wrong in saying his "point" isn't wrong.

Haha, you realize an AR-15 functions the same as an AK or an SKS or your grandfathers Remington hunting rifle?

Please, educate yourself before making dumbass postys.

Difference tho is the remington is listed as a hunting rifle.

AR-15 is an Assult Rifle.
Now why would you need an assult rifle?
Assult rifles only have 2 purpose.

Firing them for enjoyment or killing someone.

Alright, I know what the consequences of this will be, but I'll go ahead and open Pandora's box anyways....

There isn't one good logical reason why people shouldn't be allowed to own a gun.

Give me one good reason why I would actually want to own a gun. I can't think of a single one.

KT

i'll bite....to defend your family if someone were to break in. Now, the gun should be locked up, in a safe but accessible place. There's a chance you may not be able to access it in time, but there's also a chance you will. Better to have it than to now have it.

Yeah, there is a greater likelihood of a) someone breaking in while I'm not there and stealing it to do something illicit b) a family member hurting thenselves on it c) me hurting a family member.

If you are in an area where you feel unsafe and feel the need to have a gun to protect yourself, well then I suggest you move.

Well I don't live in the US, so I would reckon the statistics are very different here. Also, I'd like to see the speicifc areas where this is all taking place.

I think greater things can be done to aid society and diminish the amount of crime going on besides giving every person that wants one a gun.

I am kind of suprised the NRA hasn't organized some type of get together, especially since they are expecting a ruling on one of the topics tomorrow or so.

I know I will go to jail before I give them up.

What topic are you referring to?

OP is apparently yet another severly oppressed white guy whose complete lack of basic grammar skills -- "Every other race, religion" -- would lead the reader to believe that gun ownership is a race and/or a religion, which it may well be in his tiny little mind.

He's armed, he's angry, he can't even communicate properly . . . nope, nothing to worry about with this one.

Statisticallly gun owners are mentally more healthy, happier, better paid and better educated.

I'm sorry, what were you saying again?

I was saying that his very own post proves that he's a semi-literate twerp.

I agree with the idea of moving if you don't feel safe where you live. It's been said plenty of times before; the gun's don't kill people, people kill people.

The issue isn't a matter of whether we should have the right to own a gun. The real issue is whether people in general are responsible enough to own a gun, and whether it's fair to collectivly share that right between both parties (responsible and not-responsible).

Actually, the real issue is that people will kill people with or without guns, and there is no sense in banning the ones that people buy legally, because usually those aren't the ones doing the killing.

Blah... okey your right that there both classified as bolt action rifles.

However the remington isnt ban'd in cali while the AR-15 is.

This is why im classing it as an assult rifle. The only way you could have one was to have modifications done to it, so it passes.

I actually wanted one. So i went digging.

I also wanted a marine style silver Mp5, but those are ban'd as well.

Anyhow if your panties are all getting russled from this, then i appologize.

But i dont see this as something for you to lose your panties over.

Seem kinda the same to me...

Ohhh but the bottom one is black, therefore it's only good for killing people.

The Remington is obviously for hunting because it's camouflaged and looks friendlier. Heck, you could even use that for a Ken doll accessory. The Bushmaster is obviously for assaulting because it isn't camouflaged and doesn't look quite as friendly. This gun is probably best in the hands of Crips and Bloods. ;)

Force them to be high profile - that is an interesting take on it.

Of course we still come to the same problem of banning drugs. Anything can be made illegal - but it'll still be easily accessible/available.

I say own all the guns you want - heck if you want to own a machine gun, rocket launcher, or some other crazy gun and have the $$$ for it more power to ya. HOWEVER the bullets can and should be regulated much better than they are now. Make it so their production is limited and lethal ammo is only made for cops or licensed hunters. Similar to the background check for guns have one each time someone buys bullets and only sell them in very limited amounts (5-6 rounds) or for hunting in reasonable amounts. There is no need for walmart/kmart to be selling bullets the way they do. Practice ranges could sell massive amounts of ammo but none could be taken off site. That is my solution at least. Its not the guns that are killing people its the bullets and the people using the gun that do.

Americans overwhelmingly support the 2nd amendment as giving an individual the right to bear arms, BUT, the update to attitudes toward some sane gun control looks like this:

These are the results of a nationwide Harris Poll of 2,602 U.S. adults surveyed online by Harris Interactive® between May 5 and 12, 2008.

By 41 percent to 17 percent, a two to one plurality believes that the Second Amendment supports an individual?s right to bear arms. Interestingly, almost three in ten (29%) feel the Amendment supports both [an individual?s right to bear arms and a state?s right to form a militia] and 5 percent say neither.

A relative majority of U.S. adults ? 49 percent ?favor stricter gun control with 20 percent wanting less strict gun control and 21 percent wanting no change. Since 2004 these sentiments have changed slightly with the number favoring stricter gun control going down from 52 percent.

Of course they should. Guns are one thing where you definitely should have to justify purchasing/owning one.

Bullshit, and I doubt you are in a position to do anything about it.
