So what's your experience with Gmail?

So for anyone else who owns one of these babys, how much do you use it? Has it become your primary mail account, maybe you're only one? Or has it become a secondary account? Currently I have 3 email addresses that I use to varying degrees. My ISP email address is only known to a select few, to prevent spam. My hotmail account which I use for anything of a subscription nature, and any time I need to sign up for something. And my school account which is used just to read emails sent by profs. It might be nice to amalgamate all of these into one account but I have doubts about whether that would be manageable, or whether it would just turn into one huge pile of spam after a while. Anyone with their own G-Mail accounts have experience?

Oh and I'll be sure to post some invites here when and if I get them, I got mine here so I'd like to give back to the community, after giving a few to friends and family of course 🙂 Of course they're a dime a dozen now so it's nothing really special.

I like it and use it as my primary account. I use POP3 for Gmail, but still log in from time to time to check my Bulk Mail folder.

So far I haven't gotten a single piece of unsolicited spam to my Gmail account.

I don't love the thread-based organization of the Web Gmail, but obviously that's not an issue with the POP3 version. On balance I have been very pleased with Gmail.

lately whenever I use IE to send a message in gmail, after a while my MS Outlook DOWNLOADs a copy via POP3 😕

Yeah, that is indeed odd. I've had the same thing happen often lately.

So I tested it the other day, if I actually ADDRESS the mail to myself, you'd think I would receive two copies of the mail right?

Nope. I still only get one via POP3. 😕

send email to others via web interface -> phantom email arriving in own inbox via POP3
send email to *self* via web interface -> only one email arriving in own inbox via POP3

ive had gmail for a while, i use it as my only account (i check a couple of others every couple of months), and i think i have only gotten a couple of spam messages.

Yeah it is now my primary...my school account forwards to it but I still have the hotmail around.

I hate the thread-based organization though...I find it more confusing.

i wish they would put a delete button rather than use a move to trash dropdown menu. I know i have a lot of storage but some stuff i just want to delete

i use it for my primary address that i use for mailing lists. the threaded view is very very handy.

that's the only super annoying thing about gmail. i wanted to delete more than 1000 of e-mails the other day, and i had to move it 100 at a time to the trash, and *then* delete them from the trash 100 at a time.

I like it, Its pritty good. I like the way the "coversations" are set up, that way I can keep crap right and what peoples are saying to me! better organization!

yea i love it. I forward all my other email addresses to gmail, and it just filters out the spam all the other addresses were getting.
