I like it, but with it installed my ATi Tool gets buggy, and my voltage settings completely disappears.

If I go back with IE6, then ATi Tool is back 100% functional.

No, I don't get it, but I don't want to try and figure out why. So I'll keep IE6, un-used, with Firefox 2.0 as my main browser.

Oh, also, with IE7 installed my Natural-Selection crashes upon loading most servers (that's a Mod for Half-Life). Another reason for me to stay away from it. They (Valve) have released an update recently which was supposed to fix that very issue, and it did, but it only works with Team Frotress Classic and the original Day of Defeat as I tested them. On the other hand, it didn't work for N-S, which I play each days of the week and a lot during week-ends.

Strange ... how can it cause such bugs that aren't even related to web-browsing and affects other applications is beyond me, but hey, that's from Microsoft so anything is possible really.

IE7 still doesn't follow CSS rules, I had a bitch of a time getting my CSS to look right in IE and Firefox together. POO on IE, IE7 is teh junk0r

I've seen it in both kinds but it's quite rare that it happens (and quite random too).

You can load an image and see it but then when you reload it the problem's gone.

10 min later i wanted to uninstall it, just because oftewr looking at it i hated it

i cant figure out how to get rid of it

i use opera 9 tho so it doesnt really matter

A LOT of work was done to improve CSS compatibility in IE7 throughout the beta process. The developers worked extensively with beta testers to improve things.

One major difficulty is that so many sites designed to work with IE6 also need to work with IE7. That means keeping older "quirks" around while improving compliance in "strict" mode.

How about in Add/Remove Programs? Windows Internet Explorer 7. Although I think it would be best from a security standpoint to keep the latest version of IE, and keep it updated, regardless of whether you use it yourself or not.

IE is still the only browser you can deploy, configure, manage and update en masse using Group Policy and WSUS, AFAIK. People with a few hundred (or a few thousand) browsers to manage and update on a month-to-month basis might have something positive to say about IE7 Where's the competition on manageability?

My primary browser is Opera 9 but I did install IE7 recently & overall I like it a lot, except that I'm having strange Java-related problems in certain websites... for example here on ATOT the reply & quote buttons are none-functional.. worked fine in IE6 & still work fine in Opera & FF.

One major plus however is that since installing it, I havn't found a single piece of spyware on my PC vs finding stuff on virtually every Counterspy scan before.

It's not bad but not enough to get me to switch from FF 2.0. Some of the changes they just made for the sake of change, like moving the refresh and stop buttons to the right side of the address bar (any way to change this?) and replacing the menues with icons. I guess they wanted it to look new after not having a significant change in IE for like a decade.

IE7 is definitely a *VAST* improvement over IE6, but it won't be replacing Opera 9 as my first choice any time soon.

I disagree, FF 2.0 is hardly a "generation ahead," it's more like an FF 1.6. There are no next-gen browsers out right now really.

IE7 is a huge leap over IE6 and is actually quite functional as an FF replacement unless you need your extensions and gestures.

Last I used IE7 it didn't remember sessions or have mouse gestures. Without those two options it still lacking for me. Has it changed in the final release?

As a user, I love IE7. As a developer, I hate it - another browser with significant changes that I now have to test for.

FF2 I loved from a dev's standpoint because it was so similar to FF1.5 but from a user's standpoint I was pretty disappointed it because it was so similar to FF1.5.

The text quality seems fuzzy though...anyone know a solution. Using a Nvidia 6800GT if that matters.

PROBLEM

When using ZoomText 8 in Internet Explorer 7, magnified text may appear fuzzy and difficult to read.

CAUSE

Internet Explorer 7 uses Windows? ClearType feature to smooth the edges of screen fonts for clearer, more legible viewing (in unmagnified screens). However, when magnified, the clarity of ClearType text degrades significantly.

SOLUTION

To resolve this problem, disable the ClearType option in Internet Explorer 7, as follows:

On the IE7 toolbar, click on the Tools > Internet Options.
The Internet Options dialog appears.

Select the Advanced tab.
Scroll down to the Multimedia heading.
Uncheck Always use ClearType for HTML.
Select the Ok button.
Restart IE7.
