So...what's the verdict on IE7?

I see that I have new updates to install on my pc. I just didn't know if it was worth the time & trouble to install IE7. I don't think i've ever heard a final verdict on it.
Comments?

I like it a lot better than IE6, but I'm so used to Firefox and Adblock now that it's difficult for me to switch back.

The phrase is I could not care less

And yes, that's also the answer to your question.

IE 7 has some issues with XML 1.0 so I dont use it as I still do a lot of coding at work with XML 1.0, other than that it works pretty well, basically its a rip-off of Mozilla and FF, but hey, its MS, they always rip off ideas.

I'm an opera lover, but IE7 is a huge upgrade from 6, definitely worth the install.

IE7 crashes on my laptop. I had to uninstall it and go back to 6...

IE7 seems slower at initially loading a webpage for me. it takes a noticably longer time to "detetct proxy settings". Overall i like it better than IE6 though, i like th RSS feeds folder and teh search bar right in the browser.

While I could care less, and haven't tried IE7, everything I've heard (so take it w/ a grain of salt) says that IE7 is between FF1.0 and 1.5 in quality. FF2.0 is already another generation ahead.

I installed it, but only use it for local.live.com. FF doesn't seem to do well at that MS-owned site. I hate having the close button on each tab, and I just didn't like the look of it. Firefox forever!

i've noticed the opposite, although it wasn't until recently that IE6 started to take a long time.

I don't like the placement of some of the buttons in IE7. I wish you could move them around or at least make it look like IE6. I hate how I have to click on flash stuff for it to work now too. It did that with IE6 and i find it extremely annoying. Any idea how to make it stop doing that?

It seems more user friendly than FF.

I disagree, FF 2.0 is hardly a "generation ahead," it's more like an FF 1.6. There are no next-gen browsers out right now really.

IE7 is a huge leap over IE6 and is actually quite functional as an FF replacement unless you need your extensions and gestures.

I use both FF2.0 and IE7.

IE7 is worth it from IE6 for sure, especially the multiple home page setup with the tabs.

IE7 is very awesome. I love the new interface, and it owns FF on all levels.

people just don't use it because it's from "microsoft," and feel like being different by using FF. I do like opera however.

One thing I like about FF over IE is how it identifies more username/password combos than IE does. I love the save login info feature, and IE7 identifies most of them but not all, like my bank's website. Is there any way to force IE to save that information for sites which it does not prompt you for?

Besides that, I think IE7's interface and tab and bookmark implementation/handling is much better than FF's. It's just all around easier and quicker. And I know people will contest this, but in my experience IE7 defintely loads some pages noticeably faster and with less delay than FF. Not all sites, and not all the time, for example after a page has been cached, but enough to annoy me.

For me, all FF has over IE7 is the better recognition of username/password combos, and the spell checker.

It doesn't really sound like it has anything on the Firefox thats already installed on my computer so I don't really see any benefit in installing it. Plus isn't IE7 XP only? I'll take the browser that works on all my machines, thank you.

I don't like it... it leaves the iexplore.exe running when I close it. I have to go end it from my processes. :s

Also, for those of you who want spell checking abilities with IE7, there is the ieSpell add-on.
