There are two different Great Clips locally that I frequent. A majority of the stylists do a good job. There are a smaller number who do a great job, and an even smaller number who do just a decent job. I have not had one bad haircut from Great Clips.

That's why I bought my own clippers and just shave my own head. Not much room for error when you're getting rid of everything but a layer of peach fuzz. :D

I only get my hair cut at Regis. Doesn't matter who I get, they always do a great job. Every other place I've been doesn't have the slightest clue how to cut hair.

Welcome to America.. where you can get your Bic Macs, Nikes, and haircuts in one conveniently placed, steralized strip mall.

Got to go with the independents, man.

I only get my hair cut by old Italian guys that have customers who are old. I have a haircut like the other asian guy avatar and older barbers with old customers are the only people in my area who know how to cut my hair correctly.

I had to quit going to my barber because he was always giving me uneven hair cuts. I go to Mastercuts now and get a great haircut from a really cool girl there. The cut is 12 and she gets a 2-3 tip depending on whats in my pocket.

I know what you mean. I used to go to Fantastic Sam's (I think that was the name) and I was in and out of the chair in 5 mins and it barely seemed like the girl even cut my hair. I've been going to a barber shop down the street for the past couple years now and I haven't looked back. I pay $15 each time and it's well worth it. He actually takes the time to taper my hair in the back and once he's all done he takes a straight razor and cleans up anything that the clippers couldn't get.

I'll second Regis. I had this great barber in high school, but when I went to college, I had to find someone new. I tried a Regis Salon on a recommendation from someone else, a little pricy, but worth it.

I goto my local hispanic barber. I use my broken spanish to say what I want. They know me well, since I am the only asian that goes to it. They sure got the fade down, and they take roughly 20 minutes to cut too. $10 with tip.

I've been going to great clips for at least 10 years and have had maybe ONE bad haircut. Cheap, quick, and easy. Fine with me.

When I was in hairstyling school a couple of girls....still in school, so not fully licenced, got jobs a great clips!

They said they were encouraged to cut hair in 15mins. or less! They were timed and given a review at the end of the day.

All those discount places are good for are for people who just want shorter hair with absolutely no style.

When I do a guys cut it takes me about 20-25 mins. because I take the time to shape the cut so that it is most flattering to the face shape. I texturize if need be and I don't always go for the clippers, sometimes I use scissor over comb technique. Depends what my client is looking for.

I actually do it out of my home now so I only charge 10 bucks but when I was at the salon we charged 19.00Cnd.

address? (BC is near vancouver, right? i'm going skiing at whistler this coming season.)

i could use a good stylists since i moved. the the one i used to use is now 12hrs away (round trip)

She used to cut hair at a Great Clips but they got tired of everyone coming in asking for her while 3 stylists had nothing to do, so they found a reason to make her quit. Now she owns her own business. Costs a little more than Great Clips, but you don't have to run the risk of having someone else cut your hair or waiting very long (cuts it in 5 minutes..80% of her clientel are men, mostly professionals that work in the area)

A good haircut is hard to find, took me over a year before I could find anybody that could cut hair worth a damn in this area.

name/address of this place?

I goto this lady's basement (where one room is converted into a nice barbershop) and she cuts my hair. Does a damn good job to..and only charges $7CDN (used to be $6). And she's pretty pateint with me, cause my hair is soo thick that it causes her clipper thingy to get stuck. So she always has to clean it and try again.

I used to go to Larry's Barber Shop in Upper Montclair, NJ that was owned and run by this old guy (Lorenzo aka Larry). It was 4 old Italian guys in a classic barber shop. I don't go there anymore since he sold it to this young guy and now it's called BalonZe or something. What a shame to see that place go... Larry still works there, but only two days a week.

Edit: Now my gf just cuts my hair. I have a pretty simple haircut.

I've been going to the same barber now for about 10 years. His price has gone up from $12 to $16 but totally worth it. He works in a shop with his two brothers that his family has run for 50 years. Great place to get a cut. And, I should add, a rare find in LA.

I go to a cheap stylist in Sacramento ($7/cut) and I usually get an OK quality cut. I don't usually have a favorite, but had one that took almost an hour to cut my hair:Q I was falling asleep sitting there.
