The mis-informed Lefties here in P&N have gotten me more involved in politics. After all, if these tools are a representation of the Democratic party, we all need to stand up and take a close look at what is happening to society.

Thanks for providing a perfect example of what got me more interested than I had been. When I encounter someone I disagree with, I COULD call them a mis-informed Righty, but why offend with style when you can insult with substance? I like debating, and I don't like losing, so any topic I'm even remotly interested in I examine inside and out so I can hold my own in discussions without looking silly.

Far from being "mis-informed", I now feel I can post here without having to resort to using insults like that one as my argument :D

At the begining, it was a combination of The Daily Show and The West Wing...

4 years studying social science also helped. The great thing about a field like Sociology is that you can't help but to apply everything that you're learning to the world around you, and often times, that means the government.

Worked locally for Carter back in 76 when i was a teenager. Realized what a lie the whole thing had been then Reagan came in 80 and made me feel good about my country again and proceeded to do exactly what he said he would do. Been intensely interested in politics ever since. I never take anything at face value but try to get behind every position and determine the real truth of it. I am a hopeless skeptic so I don't usually believe anything until i see it in action.

I've always had a passing interest in politics. At Cal, there was no way to stay away from forming a strong political opinion--one way or the other

Bill Clinton inspired me with his passion and compassion filled Speeches about America, and also with the 8 years of prosperty his administration brought.
