A friend of mine was getting married and I was an usher at his wedding. His fiance was from New Jersey and had attended McGill University in Montreal. One of her Bridesmaids was a friend of hers from Montreal that had come down for the wedding. When I went to the rehearsal I was slightly buzzed so when my friends introduced me to her I really didn't say too much. She later told me she thought I was an a$$hole then but at the rehearsal dinner later that night we had a nice casual conversation. The next day at the wedding she asked me if I would mine taking her to the airport the following day and we then ended up spending time together at the reception. Long to short we have now been married 17 years.

Mr. Lion gets ALL the ladies and passes them on to me. His latest "catch" (pictured) has been with me for 2 years now. He's like chum for meeting women.

Seriously. She worked in my dorm and I was always in the office talking to her. I casually invited her to come to a presentation I was giving to help pad the attendance number, then I invited her to come hang in my room and have a piece of cake.
She saw the stuffed Lion, and like every other female who has ever entered my room, was immediately drawn to his cute huggable form, and I was able to use him to keep her in the room long enough to work my charm.

Within 2 days she was staying up all night watching anime with me.

I'd just moved to LA, and my friend took me to a bboy practice on Monday night. I watched, and a guy sat down next to me... I recognized him from a video I'd seen, and asked him if he was who I thought he was. Yup... we chatted for about two minutes, and then he went back to practicing.

My friend brought me to the practice again the following Monday, which happened to be his 23rd birthday... I wished him a Happy Birthday and he remembered me. We talked for a few more minutes, and he took me to the side and showed me some basic bgirl/bboy moves... we talked some more (me: how will you be celebrating? him: no plans yet, was thinking about going to the beach tonight... wanna come? me: sure...), and then I had to go so he asked for my number. He called that night asking if I wanted to go to the beach with him... we walked on the sand, talked, wrestled, laughed, sat down looking out at the black water of the ocean and I told him that I was JUST looking for friends. Being new to LA, I wanted to get settled with a job, place to live, etc. before even thinking about a romantic relationship. He said that was fine... and the next week, he asked me to be his girl. I felt very comfortable and happy around him... so I said yes. :)

Peace,
Dezign

My boyfriend was a good friend of my step brothers. We had crossed paths for years, but at that time i thought he was a jerk, loser, etc. The summer he graduated, our groups of friends became intertwined. We stared talking and what not.....we then decided to go to the Warped Tour together...it's been 2 years. We have been living together for over a year now. He rocks!!!!!:D

Before I started going out with my g/f, we just sort of kept running into each other. When a coworker of mine told me he kind of liked her, I figured I had to do something or I'd lose her, so I asked her out. That coworker has hated me more than anything ever since, and my g/f and I have been together for seven years.

Not sure for how much longer, though. :\

Mp3s, could you believe it? She wanted my mp3s, and well, we start talking, and beats me what happened after that.

We were standing around bored out in front of our school during a fire drill when I just started talking about the class we were in. She must have felt a mutual attraction, because we ate lunch together, and everthing took off from there. This was ten years ago this month. I'm still amazed that things turned out so well from such a uneventful beginning.

my gf picked me up actually. We'd been friends and talking a bit over e-mail and at lunch with a big group. We worked at the same company and we'd flirt a little over e-mail. Then one afternoon she came over to my desk. The conversation went something like this:

Me: "So what are you doing after work?"
Her: "Probably just go home and cook some dinner."
Me: "What are you making?"
Her: "What do you wanna eat?"

short pause...

Me: "Do you know how to make puris?" (puri is an Indian dish, kinda like a deep fried tortilla)
Her: "Yeah, do you want to come over after work?"
Me: "Sure"

the rest is history...

Right before I gradutated college, a friend of mine (female) told me about a single friend she had who lived near my home. She gave me her e-mail address, and once I had moved home contacted her to say hello. We started talking and finally agreed to meet. We went out once and hit it off, so we started dating, and are now engaged. MUCH easier than any of my past relationships...almost effortless!!!

one that worked:

I was sunbathing on Diamond Head and on the way down (I walk VERY fast) I heard someone right behind me, so I tried to dust him/her/it. At the bottom, he was still there and introduced himself by saying "It won't work -- I have very long legs". he did have very long and very attractive legs :)

one that didn't:

During invasion of Kuwait, I was watching breaking news on a big screnn tv in Sears and an attractive guy walked up and said, "They are attacking my home country and I am very worried about my family! Let me take you to dinner tonight." :p

Currently single by choice.... need career advancement first... yeah..that's it......

I don't remember any techniques that guys used to pick me up. I think we just had good conversations and I usually always say yes for the first date before I judge if they were sponge worthy. :)
