So what if the planets are here for a reason.

What if the planets are all hanging out here for a good reason. That reason is us. Like what if by the time we trash this planet and its no longer habitable we find the technology to move all of us over to another planet and fully adapt there. Then, by the time we trash that planet and have to move on we have the technology to move to another planet and adapt to living there. The cycle just continues...

It sounds nuts but that's why I threw the "what if" in there. It could happen guys. I'm not saying I'm just saying...

I can see this happening. We would all have to move to Mars and live under a dome. It would be like a huge mall but all futuristic. There would be robotic cab driver and hookers with three boobies. Life will be good.

I'm thinking no matter how bad we fvck up this planet, it will be easier and faster to Fix earth than it would ever be to terraform a different planet.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. With the combination of time and technology, what if we found a way to live comfortably on gas planets? Or, again with time and technology, we found a way to convert the surface of the planets into clean air for us to breath with a source of water that we can use. What if that is why the planets are there all along.

They could be just big balls of.. planet.. wait for us to get smart enough to use them. Each of them located distances to the sun with different gaseous makeup for us to work on when the time comes...

It might not sound so crazy, eh?

I wouldn't say its for a reason other than natural forces at play... ie gravity causing stellar gas and materials to clump into rings around a new star, and eventually in solid bodies. :p

But I do support the idea that we may eventually find use for the other planets. We could use the outer planets, and their moons for fuel:
pure hydrogen found as H2, no need for extraction
Helium readily available and a potential fuel source in the future
Hydrocarbons available in limited quantities on planets, found as liquid/precipitation on Titan (moon of Saturn)... Methane is the most abundant hydrocarbon.

If it wasn't for the planetary alignments such as they are, we most likely wouldn't be here at all. The asteroids in the asteroid belt are a good indication of what would have happened to the Earth a long time ago if we didn't have those planets out there to help deflect this wandering cosmic trash that could cause our extinction. These large wandering bodies in space then ended up as moons or other planets captured by the Sun which have helped our long term survival chances significantly.

And your post also sounds oddly religious in nature, as if those planets were magically placed here by the giant and invisible hand of God or something.

Its not like this came out of the bible, just out of my head. Not religious at all, just coincidentally advantageous to the advancement of mankind; much like your statement about us not being here at all to begin with if it weren't for the planetary alignments.

Replace that with overpopulating earth then. I'm not talking 2010 here, i'm talking way way down the road man. I thought you of all people would appreciate mutant strippers.
