you mean we'll eventually be able to live on gas planets?

Yeah that's what I'm saying. With the combination of time and technology, what if we found a way to live comfortably on gas planets? Or, again with time and technology, we found a way to convert the surface of the planets into clean air for us to breath with a source of water that we can use. What if that is why the planets are there all along.

They could be just big balls of.. planet.. wait for us to get smart enough to use them. Each of them located distances to the sun with different gaseous makeup for us to work on when the time comes...

It might not sound so crazy, eh?

More like terrifying!

So if those big balls of.. planets touch, then just WOW! And what a really BIG ker-POW after!

I'm sure all the billions and trillions of star systems were made for us to explore and populate as well

A gas planet is still doesn't help us if it's got a breatheable atmosphere. It's still gas.... You need some way to create a solid core for us to live on. Let me know when you figure that one out.

trashing the earth is not going to happen.

Replace that with overpopulating earth then. I'm not talking 2010 here, i'm talking way way down the road man. I thought you of all people would appreciate mutant strippers.

there is a great likelihood of man made planets than occupying mars.

Nah we'll just float around and crap. Its more fun anyway. The future is going to be fun, I know this as fact.

Wait...wait...wait...

But what if the planets AREN'T here for a reason? Dude, just think about it!

You're completely wrong. They're here for us to pillage...not to live on. Fool.

Well, the problem is our exponential rate of population increase in the last 100 years.

The planet just can't physically support so many people forever. We will have to leave it eventually...

I don't think most people realize that the Earth's population was 1 billion in 1900, and it took what... the previous 25,000 years before that, to reach 1 billion? And 100 years to times that by 6?

That's pretty incredible

Edit: Yeah, so my numbers were a little off, but about right. The world population in 1900 was 1.6 billion.

The world population in 1000AD was 300,000. It took us 900 years to gain 1.3 billion people.

Compare that to 1950 and 2000, 2.5 billion and 6 billion, respectively. A gain of 3.5 billion people in 50 years.

wait wait...This is too much! That means one tiny atom in my fingernail could be--could be one little tiny universe!

Gas giants have a solid core, but it's small and the pressure would crush you long before you got to it..

It's all those Chinese. In China, rhinoceros horn is considered an aphrodisiac. Actually, I think rice must be an aphrodisiac.
