Armchair lawyers #1.

All lawyers sit in armchairs
Over your head. I apologize.

How about, monday morning quarterback?

I don't follow football, sorry. It was a joke, I'm familiar with the term phrase "armchair xxxxx."

You're just lame is all.
Aww, you're cute.

I want to pinch your cheek and touch your bum.

I carry no self defense. Anything aside from your own self and perhaps some mace is just asking for more trouble. Carry around a gun and be prepared to use it.

I'd rather run or lose $50 than die over my wallet.

Very true about being ready to use a weapon. I think it matters who you are, where you are, and what you believe in. I live in an area full of weapons, but very few violent crimes. Crime here is certainly detered by people with weapons who will use them. If the situation presents itself, there is no question as to what you'll do. I think you'll find the same attitude from many rural areas.(Texas, Plains, etc) There also is a strong "eye for an eye" type of value system in these areas. It works for us who don't have police on every corner or many shootings in bars or gang violence.

As for the choice of $50 or your life, you'd certainly give up the $50. However those are not the only two considerations. Imagine an armed populus who would use deadly force for defense. By defending your wallet (or being raped, kidnapped, etc) you defend people down the road from that same situation. I'm not saying everyone should walk around with an uzi, but if enough just people are ready to defend themselves they won't have to.

BTW, if I had children or was with other people who may get harmed I would give up my wallet if I thought that would ensure a safe resolution. However if I was alone it would be my own choice in dealing with my own life.
