Take less courses; work more and graduate an extra semester/year later.

That would only cost me more money.

More money in the long run but more affordable overall

wow, these parents are jerks -- make 120K and wont help their kid? thats absurd

then again, the last two girls I've dated, their parents don't pay for their education either, they made them take loans, and both of their parents incomes were at least that level. But they paid enough for their daughters to survive

Seems like you're going to have to find a job that's flexible in hours and allows you to study during your downtime. On-campus jobs don't pay much, but they tend to be very flexible for students. You act like you need 3200 bucks right now, but in reality, you will need it in six months. Work as much as you can, and full time on school breaks, and maybe by next summer your parents will see how hard you're working and take pity on you. If they don't, you at least won't need nearly as much money as you would have otherwise, so the 20% interest rate credit card debt will be much smaller.

Is there any possible way for you to get an extra paying roommate? Do you have a bedroom in your apartment you can rent out? Move computers out of an office and rent it out?

Well I've RTFT and the only thing left to suggest is for you to physically move. Transfer to a cheaper school and put yourself in a 'job rich' location. Sorry, I'm not concerned with if your GF can move with you or not. Long distance relationship if you must.

Besides that OP, everybody here has tried to help you and all you could do is come up with reasons why you can't do this or you can't do that. Poor you because your parents won't help you out. Gimme a break.

If you want those degrees bad enough, you'll find a way. Personally, I think you should forget the summer classes and find a job to save up money instead. If it means going to school longer then so be it.

Find a job. Move to a different school if you have to. IMO your parents don't owe you an education. That's for you to deal with.

I had problems finding financial aid this year because my parents would not cosign on a loan. They are well off too, and probably could afford my schooling. But I understand, and it makes you more responsible. I am also working 25 hours a week at the Geek Squad, helping to pay for those loans, all while commuting to college.

My parents helped me out enough, now that I am 18, I can start to live on my own. Even though I live in the same house as them, I still pay my own bills. I Should have enough money together by summer to beable to afford a studio apartment by myself a block away from my school.

Life is more than getting a 4.0 and going to the top college.....geesh, you are a grown up and you live on your own. You cannot run to mom and dad when ever you have financial problems, otherwise you should just stay home.

Your parents should help you out.

I know I will open up a bank account for my first child's education the day he/she is born.

My parents put my sister and are planning to put me through college, is it something they have to do? No...

It simply makes things a whole lot easier, and it makes them happy to see me succeed more than anything else they could buy with that money.

You think?

I'm not so sure. He states that he was emanicapted, hence...he chose to become an independant from his parents...and emanicpation is NOT an easy process. Unless the OP is referring to him being 24 as being emanicpated, which would be silly.

So...you want to tell us the real reason why your parents won't help you out?

Oh, and bottom-line, you're going to need to make some sacrifices kid. We've given you viable options and you've turned down each one.

Either:
A) lower your study (class) load in order to get a PT or FT job
B) keep your load up and still get a PT or FT job and live with the fact that your grades may drop a couple points.
C) Drop out of school

Your decision.

Haha an ATOTer on his high horse, again RTFT, there are no jobs near the university, the ones there are are min wage or slightly higher. Hence they wouldnt even cover rent, let alone future expenses or classes id be taking over the summer anyway.

My parents arent paying because they are cheapskates and always have been. Our relationship is otherwise healthy.

OP, are you planning on whining on ATOT about your financial and education situation until a member here gives you a large cash gift or a donation thread is started on your behalf? Certainly you don't expect money to fall from the sky or grow on your trees.

OP, what are you willing to do to resolve your situation?

I was asking how other people in my situation do it.

I said in my OP that im not bitching about my situation, im just trying to figure out the best thing to do.

Thank you for your constructive post, douchebag.

I think ive got all of the helpful advice im gonna get, which, according to ATOT tradition, was about 4 posts of 100.

Ooh. You hurt my feelings! LOL

I'd already contributed to this thread before that post. I was just tired of reading about your whining and always shooting down others' ideas. So what are you going to do OP?
