What in gods name are you doing in Alabama? Are you in search of these elusive "nice southern girls?" 😛

Considering he's with "Nikki" (I guess we're all suppose to know who this Nikki person is, or he would have told us) I doubt finding other girls is on his mind.

Get some skoorb baby pics. They are as valuable as tomkat's kid pics.

Skoorbs left Birmingham and went o New York State a year ago at least.

For lunch:

Top Hat BBQ - out in the middle of nowhere, but not far from where you are now. If you want to be further south than that by lunch (and still want southern BBQ) I'd recommend Dreamland in Birmingham. Or Nikki's as mentioned previously (not BBQ but still good.) Or Fish Market in downtown B'ham if you want seafood.

For stuff to-do (on a pretty day like this):

-Birmingham Botanical Gardens
-Barber Motorsports Park Museum
-Vulcan Park (not a lot to do, just a nice view of B'ham)

Might also want to check out this map from the state tourism site which has a bunch of things to do in various categories on there. It doesn't have everything, but still enough stuff on there that you should be able to find something.

They do exist and highest concentration is between Cullman and Bham.

They are hot.

Good luck

If you have even a passing interest in vehicles, Barber is great.

He mentioned Nikki when he replied to me, and I know who Nikki is. Not his girlfriend.

We are going to take back roads to Hayden and skip birmingham

We want to see more of the "local people" so we are going to take back roads from Gadsden to Hayden.

Good drive? OK drive?

We're "local people" here in Birmingham too. There's just a lot more of us is all. 😉

Sorry, but I have no idea how that drive is. I'll differ to somebody else on that.

Here's another interesting take you might mesh more with what you're looking for (100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama Before You Die.) Or maybe one of these scenic driving or covered bridge trails.

We are at top hat right now. This is good stuff!!
Glad you like it. I haven't been there in years, but little places like that rarely change. Need to venture up there again someday.

Why the eff would you pick some backass town in Alabama as a destination? Was this a 'Have GPS will travel' adventure? There's probably much more interesting places you could have ended up in the same amount of miles.

And you're not missing anything by not going to Montgomery....I was there over a weekend for work last summer and I swear I thought some kind of plague wiped out the entire town. I've never seen a quieter city (if you can call it that) on a Saturday night. Ended up finding a minor league baseball name (the "Biscuits"...I couldn't make that up) and some almost decent brew pub around the corner.

You could go see the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, TN... It's in a dry county though, so don't go on a Sunday...can't buy any booze at the gift shop on Sunday!
