No Comparision. The new gen Accord has the sweetest interior EVAR. And this is coming from me, one who cares not about interiors.

I think I'll stick to loss leader ads for now :)

You can get the loss leader ads if you go first thing when the dealer opens friday/saturday (they are by law supposed to have the car in the ad) just look for the vin number. I bought my 99 sentra gxe for 11.5k out the door loaded with everything sticker price was ~17k

Great price.

An AT'er PM'd me asking what loss leaders are and what they look like, so I'm going to mail them a few on Monday :)

Thats not the only difference. There is a year of depreciation you failed to factor in. The car has depreciated on the lot has already depreciated a full model year. Not to mention the drop when you drove it off. Not saying you got hosed.. but you didn't look at everything. No one does so don't feel too bad.

So how do you know its been sitting there for 1 yr ??
Maybe it was one of the last 2003 that came to the lot and its been there for only a couple months.
All you're doing is guessing.

The car has 6 miles on it, so if you think it has depreciated that much....good for you.

Your post doesn't make sense, any new car will drop once you drive it off the lot.
My post wasnt..."I got a great deal or I got hosed".......it was about the tactics that I had to deal with.

I prefer the 2002 Accord's looks. The new one looks a little too rounded and bubbly for me. Last year's model had better defined lines, imo.

The electric blue indeed does look sharp :)

I also commented on what he stated. What he means is the depreciation value between 2003 and 2004 Accords. Karpower and other valuation sites/programs don't care when the car was made - it only takes into account the year. Although like I mentioned to him earlier, the difference might be something like $1500 b/t a 2003 and 2004 Accord when you go to sell it in a few years, and although the difference is minute, it still is a difference. He didn't mean the car had been sitting for a full year, but if you were to sell a 2003 and a 2004 Accord used sometime in the future, the 2004 would obviously sell for more.

What he said. When I went to test drive Accords a few weeks ago, I instantly fell in love with the 03's interior. Felt like a cockpit. Everything was ergonomic, in the right places, and super comfortable. Made the 02's interior, the Altima's, and the Camry's interior seem like theirs was made during the caveman era.

On a side note, I was pretty appalled by the Camry's interior. Despite it being redesigned in 2002, it sucked. The dashboard was long and the overall interior felt like a car designed in the early-mid 90's.

You are absolutely right about the difference in re-sale value if you were already thinking about selling it 3-4 yrs down the road.
But this is someone who drove a beat up beammer for 8 yrs so re-sale value is not in her mind.
To her... a 2003 is identical to a 2004 since XM is not something she wants.

Without a doubt I totally agree. I was actually on the verge of purchasing a 03 4 cylinder 4 door EX until in a very bad stroke of fate, I lost my job :| There was almost nothing that would have convinced me to purchase a 04 over a 03. Not to mention I probably would have saved $2-3K on the purchase price of the 03 anyway, which would negate any higher price the 04 would command a few years down the road, making his point completely moot and invalid.

EDIT: Nice pics. Is that the shadow gray color?

The outside is called graphite pearl.....its like the color of lead in a pencil far away....but a hint of green when closeup.
The inside is gray leather. The black leather is also quite exquisite....didn't care for the ivory leather.

I knew most of you would hate the altezza lights I have on my car.
I wanted altezza lights but I didn't want the normal you find everywhere(you know the one I'm talking about).
Most people I know likes the lights....maybe they're just lying to my face ??

That's the exact color I wanted (the graphite pearl). Damnit this thread is killing me :|

Altezzas imho for the most part are just played way out. The reason most people hate it on your car is that your car is blue and the altezzas stick out like a sore thumb. (And not in a good way)

Good to see somebody not take it in the butt from a dealer :) That's a sweet car. Only thing sweeter is the 6 speed though :p

You see with dealers (actually I think you know, so I'm just thinking out loud), they like to have you commit to a long period of time in their dealership. Since many fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy of psychology as time goes on you feel more and more compelled to leave with a car because otherwise you've 'wasted all this time'. However, for somebody like me the more time they dick me around the more pissed off I get and when I'm pissed off I'm not going to be buying something from you. But really different people respond to this dealer tactic differently.

no changer, only in dash cd and tape

what's a tape??? :D

nice car OP!!! get a nice professional tint job on it and it will look even sweeter...(almost a necessity down here in the south, i.e. TX)...

also, not sure where the new hondas rank on the stolen car list, but I would recommend a decent alarm and/or lo jack...(if you get the lojack installed by the dealer, you just pay 600 up front and never have to pay any monthly fees - did this on my last prelude and acura 3.2 TL...)

We juts bought a 04 Accord EX for $22,600 out the door after 8.5% tax and all fees. Why did you buy a 03? That's a full model year older to save $500?

Is your EX a V6 ?? I find it hard that you can get an EX V6 for under invoice.
Invoice for an EX V6 is $23200 for a 2003 and $23700 for a 2004.

Oh, forgot to add $460 destination fee to the invoice.

We just bought an '04 Escape for my wife for $400 over invoice plus $1500 customer cash and 3.74% financing. The best part of the experience was knowing exactly what we wanted so that by the time we actually showed up at the dealer we were ready to sign a deal. There wasn't much negotiating which is good because I don't do it well and very little actual time spent in a dealership. It would have been nice to find an '03 because we might have gotten it under invoice and $2000 back but it's slim pickings on '03 already around here.
