Aww, I love cockateils. I have one at home. if you ever want it to talk, you might want to get rid of the mirror. My mom has had birds since she was a child, and said if you give them a mirror, they won't imitate you. Mine will copy my whistle (he does the wolf-call, and some other cool things), and he will say his name. When he says his name, he will actually say "Say <name>", kinda funny.

Ours wolf calls. Unfortuantly, it is almost 7 or 8 years old, and the previous owners kept the cage in a spare bedroom on the floor with no toys all alone for years.

Needless to say the bird has issues. It has a large cage full of toys mid living room. We work alot sometimes, and found with the mirror it does not become as needy. Though on weekends it lives on my wife's shoulder or mine.

aww :(

I really want to get a bird (love them) but I probably shouldn't because I don't think I can spend that much time with it.
Get 2, then they spend time with each other. :) They're still needy as crap though :p

Haha yeah. I would actually like to get 2 cockateils, and breed them. When I bought mine, they ranged from like 150-200 depending on age, and colors.

hahaha, my friend has a bird.

Not a cokatiel, but a gray bird that resembles a parrot, but gray.

Anyways, my friend's name is Hubert, and he'll start saying "Huuuuuuubert" "Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuubert" "hubert!" I was over at his house, and the bird would not stop saying "hubert" (in so many variations). I laughed so hard. All day long, my friend Hubert would yell "shut up!!"

So, later in the day, after the bird made a funny-sounding "HuuuUUuubert!", I started to laugh. After my laugh, the bird said "shut up!!"

hah.

Sometimes the bird would bust out Chinese, especially when the doorbell rings.

Was it an African Grey? I really want one of those one day. Probably the smartest of birds. But they are damn expensive.
