I probably get around 1-2 FedEx Packages a week, and I have never had a problem with it. However with UPS, my package is always crushed and etc. and never is on time... maybe it's just my bad luck...

i have the same problems (i live in hawaii). why can't they deliver the bloody thing when they have the chance. UPS is MUCH BETTER. they actually deliver things in 2days, when you pay for 2-day delivery. i was quite surprised and satisfied with UPS' services. i will NEVER ship FedEX, unless forced to.

I bet the employee who delivered it to you was absolutely delighted that he got to work on Christmas day so you could get your package.

Man, bite (or hold) your tongue!!

UPS sucks. FedEx is one of the main reasons I buy from NewEgg almost weekly.

In your area YMMV but here in Floriduh, it is FedEx all the way.

Havent you ever read any of the rants about UPS here?

uhh, noone asked him to do it. I wasn't expecting it until the next day (though it was scheduled for delivery on XMas Eve).

Make an effort to get to know your local delivery guy, and maybe buy him lunch a few times. It makes a world of difference. I was eating lunch with my dad the other day, and he gets a call on his cellphone. Its the FedEx guy, and he's like "yo, that package you're looking for is here, but you're not. I know I can't leave it with Sherry [she works for a different company/different office/same office park, dad usually redirects packages there when he's not in] cuz she's out, and I know you need this today but I shouldn't leave it unattended...you eating nearby?" Dad's like "yeah, meet me at Monterrey's", so he comes and delivers the package to us at the restaurant!!!

The UPS guy is even cooler...me and him hang out sometimes, and he even hooked me up with a date once (he's all like "yeah, I know a hot Indian chick ordering books from Amazon all the time!" too bad he didn't mention she was like 8 years older until AFTER I met her...:))

How about giving us the choice of carrier? In my area, the fedex ground drivers can't navigate their way out of a paper bag while the UPS drivers are flawless.

I shouldn't have to bribe these people to do their job. And I've never gotten the same driver twice.

No one asked him to? So he just showed up to work on Christmas day because he loves his job so much? LOL

You do have a choice. You can choose to buy your stuff from a place that ships UPS.

Like GoogleGear... similar prices to Newegg, and they use UPS.

Sounds like the delivery driver on your particular local route is the moron.

I've always had great luck receiving packages from UPS, USPS, and FedEx. All three usually come in the early afternoon, so I make a point to be home and awake when I'm expecting something.

B/C most NewEgg customers experience great service with FedEx. I've NEVER had a problem with Fedex or packaged shipped from NewEgg via FedEx. They always arrive here within 2 days EVEN using the Saver shipping...and I'm on the EAST COAST!! :D

Everybody has horror stories with EVERY carrier. Nothing new here ;)

werd, i love FedEx and use them whenever I have a choice.

My FedEx drivers are great. Ground pickup dude is always upbeat and happy, even when picking up three huge ~40 pound boxes. FedEx Express delivery dude is reliable, understanding, and even picks up the newspaper and hands it to us if we forgot/didn't get around to getting it ourselves.

If Newegg delivered UPS, I would probably not buy speakers, cases, or monitors from them - UPS across the country is just plain scary.

I was buying from googlegear...until they were unwilling to do what I considered a nice gesture for a customer who had just spent over $1000, so now I only use newegg.

So tired of FedEx AND UPS - why can't they use Priority Mail like SVC does?? $5 to ship a stick of RAM, and it takes a week to get here - do Priority, and it'd be like $4 (and the postal service will provide free boxes and tape) and it'll take only 2 or 3 days.
