Does anybody else wonder where anything other than a 4-cylinder motor holds a place in the future??? (Maybe besides goods transport)

I know quick/fast/nimble are fun, but if we're all payin' $5/gal in a few months, what the heck are dealers gonna do with anything other than a 4-banger on their lots????

(FWIW, I'm already witnessing this with a local Toyota dealer. I have their Tundras damn-near memorized and I don't think a single one has moved in the last 2 months while Tacomas are flyin' off the lot)

????

It would make 0 difference in my way of thinking or living if gas cost $5 a gallon. I'd still have two high speed, gas guzzling fun cars and a daily driver.

The bluetooth system on the TL is the shiznit.

It probably is on other cars equiped with it too, but I only seen it in action on the TL.

Bluetooth will be included with the 2006 TSX.

They need to add about 10 lbs to the TSX as well. 10lbs of boost.

Transmission problems plagued the 2000 - 2003 TL. That's why I didn't buy my 2000. There's no such problems with the new model though.

Both components of your posr, particularly the latter, reveal a great deal of ignorance on your part.

HA! everyone knocks the acuras not being up to german quality until they sit in an acura.

if you want a v6 - go buy a TL; 'nobody' gives you all the features honda does with this car for under $30k ($29.5k otd). and i can baby it and get 27mpg 60/40 city/hi driving while gas is ~$3.75 in nyc.

Wow, I never considered a TL. Maybe I'll buy one. I hear you can get a 2003 on the cheap.

you lie.

and yea, the 9-5 is an AGING platform.

its partially based on the Saab 9000 which was what, an early 90's platform (like 92?) and then it was updated, even the current model is almost 8 years old, finally refreshing it for 06, not just a face lift, but a full blown face lift inside and out from what ive seen.

Exactly, give it a v6, give it a turbocharger, something!

No, that's exactly what it doesn't need.
A V6 or FI would easily bump the price near the TL, which would not make sense for Honda.

The TL is a larger and more "substantial" which makes it a good buy at $30k.
The TSX with the inline 4 should stay right where it is at $25k.

If Honda/Acura really wants to be serious in the luxury segment, they should demote the RSX to a Honda Prelude, replace the ugly Accord with the TSX with less luxury items/lower price and add AWD to the TL (or develop an RWD sedan platform).
A V8 in the RL wouldn't hurt either.

How did we start talking about Saabs? As long as we're on the subject, GM has finally gone too far, Saab is basically no more. They've put one of their universal V6 engines in the Saab 9-5 with a turbocharger, and I've yet to read a positive thing said about the "new" 9-5. They even downgraded the interior materials to make the Saab feel more like the rest of the GM family. :(

Since we're talking about Saabs, what about the 9-7. WTH is GM thinking? I bet the Aztek will outsell the 9-7.

The 9-7s are a lot nicer than the trailblazer or envoy, but I still wouldn't want one. It's not a Saab without a turbo.
