The US is only 46 states then.

Florida is actually New Cuba
California is another planet
Texas is clearly their own country

With the illegal annexation of Hawaii, we're down to 45.

I think it's time to start making some flags (in China) to sell to everyone who is going to need a new one with 45 stars.

They received all the benefits of being a state, so I don't see why anyone would be entitled to anything.

well i want to see those benefits returned....in full with interest. we've been had, biggest scam in history

Texas is an occupied territory. Texas had every right to leave the Union when it did, the US took Texas back by force and occupied it with a military presence that then forced a constitution and leadership on it's citizens with out their approval.

All of this might be urban legend, but that has never stopped any Texan I know from firmly believing it.

I've heard this for decades. I've always advocated letting them secede...and building a TALL wall completely around the state...

Then on a technical basis, any persons born in North Dakota, is also then technically not a US born Citizen?

And also, are any federal taxes they paid are also owed back to them...?

No, they actually owe extra for all the government-provided services they have received.
Things like roads and highways, defense, government funding for schools, universities, hospitals, farm subsidies, etc.
The bills will be in the mail on Monday.
