I think the Trump cult has evolved to the point that being a pathological lying misogynistic ass with a 3rd grade vocabulary is actually an asset.
The “one eyed man in a world of the deaf” sorta thing. 🤪

The gist of the support that Trump gets from his cult following is all about how "Trump is fighting back against the establishment boogeyman", how Trump is "calling things like it is", how Trump is "taking the Democrats to the shed", how Trump is "Making America Great Again", all of which are merely hollowed out conjecture and vague speculative wishful thinking of which to rally around.

How convenient it is for them that facts have absolutely nothing to do with their support for Trump. It's 100% feels and 0% substance because substance took a flying leap from their ideological platform the day Trump entered the West Wing and took a flaming axe to it with his wanton childish criminal behavior.

It is going to go something like this:
Court: Could you state your name for the Record?
Trump: I don't recall that. It might have been?
Court: We just asked for your name.
Trump: Political Witch Hunt!
Court: Are you claiming your name is Political Witch Hunt?
Trump: I don't recall saying any such thing.
Court: Please read back the transcript of the last 30 seconds....
...
Trump: I plead the 5th.
Court: Over your name?
Trump: WORST WITCH HUNT IN HISTORY! No one has ever been treated this baddly before! This is against the genoise convention!

LOL. Yep. I expect lots of "I don't recall," "I must have been out of the room when that conversation happened," "This is all just fake news aimed to bring down the bestest president in US history," and, yes, "on advice of counsel, I must plead my fifth amendment rights."

Calling it now, someone pushed Ivana down the stairs to delay their testimony.
Yes you’re more joking, but she was found unresponsive and scene didn’t look like suspicious. Have to wait for autopsy results. Another bob saget situation?

Judge or AG will grant an extension or some such due to Ivana’s passing. I guarantee it.

I could possibly see an argument for the kids. Maybe. For TFG/ex-husband? When is the last time they had any contact???

Doesn’t matter. He needs to help his kids grieve or some such. Sure, we all know he’s a sociopath but it still merits an extension or temporary reprieve. Something about state of mind while testifying under oath too—any lies, errors or omissions could potentially be written off as him not being in the right state of mind 24 hours after first wife’s passing.

Not going to testify until next week. That was decided pre-Ivana.

Have you ever read any Donald Trump sworn testimony/depositions? The man is literally incapable of telling the truth. He says what appears to be best for him at the present time-whether that is true factually would just be a coincidence. His lawyers will be pushing hard for him to plead the fifth on any substantive question-and given the nature of his supporters I don't see how him doing so will hurt him in the least.

That’s not what I read. AG’s statement explicitly says the delay is due to Ivana’s passing:

Edit: Maybe just for the kids.

Well, the article I linked to was posted on the 13th and has not been updated since, and she didn't die until the 14th (as far as everything I have read says), and it mentions the delay being for both Trump and the children.

So he had her poisoned/drugged. He will throw anybody and everybody under the bus if it keeps him from having to tell the truth.

Eh, Occam's Razor holds up here: it's more likely that the timing is just unfortunate. Trump and his kids are horrible people, but even they wouldn't poison Ivana just to buy themselves a delay of a few days.

The implications if they did drug Ivana would be wild — they'd be willing to end someone's life to buy time for, say, fleeing the country.

Trump abandoned our Kurdish allies on the battlefield to weasel out of an unpleasant phone call; of course he'd kill someone to save his own skin.

Oh, he would, but if it's just a minor delay for the inevitable... even he would recognize that it'd be a bad exchange. The only possible reason I'd see is if he planned to flee and needed the extra time to prepare.
