Yeah, she was fine as hell in SLP.

Who else thought the black singer was terrible? Good voice but atrocious mic handling; the vocal compressor was running so hard I was physically discomfited.

I thought all of the singers were terrible, except for the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. :hmm:

I liked the Goldfinger (?) song and the Les Mis song. Russell Crowe didn't seem as bad as everyone said, though admittedly that was just a short section.

Who?

Shirley Bassy?
Jennifer Hudson?
Norah Jones?

Hudson and Jones were pretty damn good. ...and for being about 120 years old, Shirley Bassy was impressive.

holy crap Russell Crowe was gawdawful. Well, if you know those tunes and the classic performances, it's really tough to stomach Crowe. I was worried he would come out for that (of course he would), but that entire bit was a mess.

I was hoping the Seifried chick and that emo dude would step off the stage and let Samantha Barkes take over when their moment came up. But, alas....

Not Norah Jones. Don't know Jennifer Hudson or Shirley Bassy. Slim, dark skin. "Soul" style. I assume Jennifer Hudson then since she didn't look more than 35 or so.

sang "I'm Telling You" as she did in Dreamgirls (she won best supporting actress for that)? I thought she was great...but maybe oversang that and so it was completely without emotion.

Not nearly the best performance of that.

She can sing like crazy though. She went on between Catherine Zeta Jones (Chicago) and the Les Mis mess.

Hollywood has become like a dog eating its own puke, its glory days are well past. Give me a movie like His Girl Friday, Bringing up Baby, Philadelphia Story, Notorious, Casablanca, Maltese Falcon etc. any day.

And the opening number.... what's next? Beavis and Butthead host the Academy Awards?

yeah.. why?

Media says she was "jokingly" flipping off the press. With the face she's making and her personality, sounds true.

That's her walking to do her post-show interview infront of the press gallery.
