Kind of getting tired of WOW and BF2142. Whats on everyones shopping list? TF2 or Quake Wars? Wonder which will have a bigger online community.

I am enjoying Quake wars demo. Primarily due to friends playing with me. Once you get a vent server going its really fun.

TF2 but Quake Wars kinda looks cool. Might get it eventually if the reviews are amazing and there are actually people playing.

I enjoyed the quake wars beta from the little that I played of it, but I have not played TF1 or TF2, so I cannot comment on it.

I've put in several hours of TF2 myself and really think it will keep my attention for the next several months. I tried Quake Wars online but couldn't get into. Although I only played it for about 30mins. It just reminded me of BF2 to much which I don't like. But I'd say TF2 will have more ppl playing.

Same here. If you are a huge BF2 lover play Quake Wars, otherwise go TF2.

I was really enjoying the Quake Wars demo for several days, then TF2 beta came out, and I have not loaded the QW demo since. So for me it might indicate TF2 is farbetter than QW, and I personally do like TF2 more, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun QW was.

Also consider TF2 is $30 (or less if you want the other games with it) while QW will be $50 probably. QW has a lot to it, as far as number of maps, character and item upgrades, etc.. but TF2 is surprisingly addictive and has a lot of replay value for not having the amount of depth and content that QW has.

Time and money permitting, I'd like to own both. They are both excellent MP games. But for now, I've bought the Orange box and that's all I have time or money for. I will consider QW in the future, especially after it is cheaper. I still feel I will get quite a bit more playtime out of the QW demo too, if I can ever not play TF2. :)

I've got both. I've only played TF2 about 3 times since the beta started but I'm constantly playing QW.

If Valve were to release a demo, I'd be more than willing to try TF2. Paying $50 for a game I already have, something I may or may not like, Episode 2 (which is probably good), and a little puzzle game isn't really what I want to do with my money. I think I'll wait until UT3 comes out then decide between that and ETQW. I always liked the large-scale Battlefield style more than the CS thing.

if you're tired of BF2, then play TF2. Quake Wars is a BF2 clone, just like Crysis and Frontlines: Fuel of War, not to mention, they're all pretty crappy games from what I've played so far.

I'm going to buy both, but not for normal reasons. I like TF2 more at this point in time, but I also want to support Splash Damage since they made ET for FREE several years back. I think TF2 is pretty much a finished product but I expect QW to change more even post release, it looks like a lot of little tweaking will make the game more enjoyable.

I'm going with quake wars for now.
TF2 looks interesting but the low number of maps has me concerned.
I know that eventually more maps will come out once the community gets going.

The variety and scope of some of the maps in QW is really great.
If you still have the demo installed, go to the advanced documentation link in the start menu, then look at maps.
Some really interesting maps there.

I haven't played TF2 but I LOVE QW. It didn't do much for me at first, but once I really sat down and took the time to "get" it, I was hooked.

It sucks if you have a crappy team though. Nobody on GDF ever takes the sewers and that's the best way to go for objectives 3 and 4.

QW has a learning curve, please dont pass judgement if you played for 30 mins and didnt like it.

Also it is more team oriented than BF2, having people that know how to play is vital, which you dont get much of in the demo.
