I typically skip paying full price for games but SR3 was just amazing and the trailer for 4 looked really good.

Played 3 or 4 hours last night with a buddy - the co-op is great.

The intro was a little too long but once the world opens up, it's as fun or more fun than 3, which is saying something.

I'm about 74% complete on SR3 right now, so by the time I complete it I should be ready for SR4 which looks amazing and be able to get it a bit cheaper. Glad to hear everyone is enjoying it.

Is this version optimized better than SR3? I was disappointed how bad the last game ran on an overclocked 2500k and 7870.

I'm not sure about optimization, but from what I hear SR4 co-op isn't a huge lag/desyncfest like it was in SR3.

I've only gotten a chance to get about an hour or so into it, just long enough to gain the first two superpowers, but I'm loving it. So far it seems like SR3 taken to a new level with some Crackdown, Prototype, and Infamous influence thrown it for good measure.

it gets much better when you can run up walls etc., and after you upgrade stamina as well as the relevant power that reduces stamina consumption. Kind of makes the vehicles redundant, though, which could be bad...

That's kind of how I feel right now. They made it so driving isn't that fun (outside of tanks) compared to how fast you can travel on foot now. Getting out of trouble is also much easier when you're flying over buildings vs driving. You can force yourself to use vehicles but it feels like you're missing out.

well... im enjoying this much more than SR3... i could never get into sr3 because i was feeling i was doing stupid senseless things all the time that were not needed to be done.

SR4 campaign is well done, you still need to do the silly events like defending, winning races and stuff like that but now I feel like I KNOW why im doing it.

And yes, using cars is kinda useless (except for using vehicles with guns) but well, its not that i care too much since running and jumping is fun anyway besides helpful

to me, SR4 improved the gameplay over SR3

I don't drive in them much, but I love grabbing them and tricking them out :)

Definitely, and I enjoy the various "tributes" to various games. Old 2D Fighter games, Metal Gear Solid, Mass Effect, and The Matrix, to name a few.

by far SR3's biggest problem, campaign felt disconnected

I had no lag issues in SR3 at all playing coop like someone else mentioned though

Did you guys seriously buy Saints Row for it's campaign? lol I just love doing stupid sh*t that's all :)

Ever play bumper cars in sr3? You could take a couple of those mini cars right into the penthouse, up the elevator and around the pool onto the helipad. Then you and a friend try bump each other off.

Also, have a friend jump on your vtol and fly around with him doing handstands and shit. Or just beat each other up with dildos.

So much fun, stupid shit to do in these games. Such a great co-op experience. I also never experienced any lag issues in co-op mode (pc), and i can understand how it would be a deal breaker.

well... it seems like the "campaign" is just telling you what order to do which activities with some videos in between

Now, that said it's still damn fun because I like most of the activities.

Also, I have been playing with the xbox controller but just switched to KB/M which IMO makes it better. I usually play 3rd person stuff with the controller but they controls work out really well with a keyboard too.

Anybody else seem to just be sticking with the hi powered pistol? The enemies don't move around a whole lot and 1 headshot with this pistol is enough. It makes a lot of other weapons seem like work in comparison, especially the SMGs.

In the beginning i find it easiest to just melee (super sprint into them and hit a mouse button, for those badass combos, repeatedly). Later on just freeze them and run into them. Need weapons for the sentries though.

I've been playing but can't make myself sit down and play for very long, all the quests and whatnot feel the same and I get tired of it. I do a few quests then stop.

Also agree that cars are basically worthless, you can run far faster than any car, heck any plane for that matter, especially with jumping and gliding.

If you're playing just to get through all the quests, then you're not playing it right. The really fun part of the game is just starting it up and doing whatever the hell you want. Last night a friend and I spent 2 hours running around the city collecting the data cores and smashing each other with the tentacle bat.

Disappointingly, I never listened to the radio stations, because you never spend any time in a car. Apparently, on one of the stations, the alien overlord will occasionally call in to read Shakespere to poetry. Also, based on the beginning and end of the game, when they play pop music during some very cinematic scenes, they had some very good music this game.

Listen to it while you're running around...you can listen to the radio anywhere since they figured people would be less inclined to be in a car.

A new (I believe it's new anyway) feature in SR4 is that you can listen to the radio on foot. They must have realized there wasn't going to be much vehicle time. If you're on a keyboard you can switch stations with the period and comma keys on foot, on a controller you might have to open the weapon switching menu but the controls are on the bottom-left when that window is open.

Actually, that's from Saint's Row 1. They finally brought it back? Cool, but they really should have mentioned that in a tutorial or something; i already beat the game, and while it wasn't bad by any means, it's not really one of those types I feel like revisiting. A pity, since I probably racked up over 200 hours in Saints Row 2 from multiple playthoughs.

In SRIV? It was mentioned...
